City Tots is a unique center for children to grow – emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually – in a supportive and enjoyable environment. All children are unique, along with their developmental paths. And their development is greatly influenced by their environment and their experiences. City Tots was developed to help children grow at an advanced pace and to enable them to reach their full potential using many of the same ingredients they would find at home: safety, warmth, consistency, friendship, love, and leadership. Children need variety and choices to keep interest levels high and to continuously develop. We believe enrichment should be an everyday experience, so we have a variety of options to be enjoyed – from academic activities to socializing events, to adventure areas with custom-made areas to foster imagination, discovery, and growth. Our goal is to help children flourish in a distinctive setting through structured academics and play-based activities. Become a member at City Tots and watch your child thrive in a unique, creative, and supportive learning environment!

STC New York City (STC NYC) is a local network of leaders within the national Schools That Can network. We bring together outstanding leaders from district, independent, charter, & faith-based schools to break down sector-specific silos and refocus the dialogue on what works. Through monthly Roundtables, Study Tours, Workshops, and local partnerships, leaders learn from one another’s success and support each other in overcoming the challenges inherent in running a high-performing urban school. Through collaborative sharing, participating schools have implemented new teacher observation systems and technologies, incorporated data analysis and planning templates, and adopted innovative curricula and assessment strategies. Participants indicate that they leave STC events with tangible resources to support continued improvement across their schools in the areas of leadership, culture, and instruction.

Our mission is built upon their vision for creating bridges between researchers and the policy arena. The Center is rooted in interdisciplinary social science and comprised of an Executive Committee, Hunter Advisory Board, CUNY Research Board, and an active student policy group (AQuIPS) https://www.facebook.com/aquipshunter. All board members are social science researchers or policy faculty with expertise in LGBTQ issues or in gender and sexuality more broadly. We aim to: Address the key current LGBT policy issues in New York City, New York State, the United States, and Internationally Create a public platform for social scientists and policy scholars to contribute to public policy discussions Increase the visibility of LGBT policy-relevant research Foster collaboration and collegiality between CUNY researchers and policy scholars addressing LGBT policy issues across campuses Support social science and policy faculty in their LGBT research and in making their work accessible to a broader audience LGBT Social Science & Public Policy Center holds public symposia on pressing policy issues bringing together policy makers with researchers in the field, book talks with social scientists writing on key LGBTQ social issues, brown bags featuring the work of board members, and policy round tables. Board members serve as experts in policy hearings, consult on the drafting of legislation, produce policy white papers, and teach their students about engaged scholarship. We also support a student policy group (AQuIPS), offer undergraduate classes, and an intensive undergraduate fellowship program. Education sociologist Dr. Elizabethe Payne currently serves as Interim Director. For events and activities, follow us on facebook and twitter @LGBTPolicy. NOTE: The name of the policy center uses “LGBT,” rather than a more expansive list of identities, in alignment with current policy language at the city, state, federal, and international levels. The research and focus of faculty affiliated with LGBTSS&PPC includes the “Q” and beyond.
