Dr. Roger M. Penna Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician Dr. Roger M. Penna has been a trusted sports Chiropractor for two decades. He is a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College – Los Angeles and was nationally certified by the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians (ABCSP) in 1996 as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). He was named Chiropractor of the year for Grapplers Quest –West, was a lead instructor for Sports Massage at Northwest Health Careers in Las Vegas, and was on the executive board of the United States Sports Chiropractic Federation. He is Member of CEPA (Care of Elite and Professional Athletes), former member of FICS (Federation International Chiropractic Sprotif) and was State Representative for ACA – Sports council. Dr. Penna is well versed in several Chiropractic Techniques (Diversified, Cox, Thompson and Gonstead) as well as several soft tissue and massage techniques. He has worked with several top doctors (Medical, Orthopedic and Chiropractic) and Trainers from around the world at various venues in the United States. Dr. Penna also incorporates into his practice taping techniques, exercise and stretching techniques, nutritional recommendations, multi-modality physiotherapy and is well versed in biomechanics and erqonomics. Dr. Penna has been in private practice for 20 years. He has seen many top professional athletes from various fields including Pro –body builders, football players, baseball players, MMA fighters, race car drivers, and rodeo cowboys. Dr. Penna has also been the on-scene doctor at several venues that include National Tae Kwon Do Championships, World Hip-Hop Championships, World Sport Aerobic Championships, Pan- American Games – Jui Jitsu and several MMA Venues.
Mojave Network Care utilizes Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) as a model for its Chiropractic service. Network Care is comprised of two healing modalities: Network Spinal Analysis and Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI). The Network approach to wellness is very different. Our view is that wellness is not simply about the absence of symptoms or disease, but about out internal experience of our bodies, our ability to make constructive healthy lifestyle choices, and our ability to enjoy life and feel well. We perceive our world through the nervous system. It is also through the nervous system that we coordinate the function of every cell, tissue, and organ in the body. In every region of the body, every emotion is expressed through the nervous system. Also, it is the part of us with which we reason and which adapts us to stress. The nervous system is the vehicle we use to create our conscious reality. Sometimes events occur that our brain decides are not safe for us to fully experience at that particular time. The energy and information of these events are translated into vibration and tension, which is then stored in the body. This tension begins to distort the body, including the spinal system; spinal bones (the vertebrae) lose their normal alignment; and muscles and ligaments strain and pull. Nerves can become compressed or stretched and irritated, and our body then ‘closes off’ the offending energy and tension. Over time, muscular tightness, spinal distortion, and reduced breathing into the area can occur, resulting in reduced movement. Until it is safe to experience that energy again and digest the stored information, we cannot really feel whole or well. Network Spinal Analysis uses gentle and specific touches in a consistent sequence, where the spinal cord attaches to the spine. These contacts encourage the development of spontaneous stretching movements and breathing movements that release tension in the spine. Also, these contacts engage the higher part of the brain, the frontal lobes of the cerebral cortex. This is the region of our brain through which we observe ourselves and make choices regarding our behavior, the area through which we can reach a higher level of humanity and embrace spirituality and evolution. Somato Respiratory Integration uses your focused awareness, gentle breath, motion, and touch to engage these higher brain centers through specific exercises. These exercises will help you experience you body more fully with safety and peace. As a home support program of self care, they will also further your advancement in Network Care. The SRI exercises allow you a positive and constructive tool to deepen the wellbeing of your body-mind.
