In 2012 the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet celebrated 140 years on the Nazareth Living Center. In 1992 McGovern Commons was built to offer skilled nursing to both the sisters and the lay residents of the community. Both the Sisters and Benedictine Health System are ministry partners with Nazareth Living Center.
The Discussion Club is a non-profit, non-political organization that meets monthly to listen to invited speakers on a wide variety of topics, with a goal of providing the St. Louis community with an opportunity to hear leading intellectuals and to engage in intellectual discussion and debate. Anyone can join The Discussion Club. Our existing members are very friendly and eager to welcome visitors and new members. Come prepared to be stimulated and to have a good time. Finally, a number of well-known business, political, and civic leaders frequently attend our meetings, so our meetings provide an excellent opportunity to network with highly respected members of the St. Louis community. Becoming a member is easy. Just call 314-416-7722 and tell Mary Ann you want to become a member. She will send you an application form. Membership requires annual dues of $50 for individuals, $80 for families, and $300 at the corporate level. Members pay only $34 per meeting (non-members pay $39 per meeting) and receive other benefits. Members are also given the opportunity to request specific speakers.
Project ENGAGE is an acronym for Enriching Neighborhoods through Generous Actions, Growth and Empowerment. Project ENGAGE has been designed to encourage and empower students and families of the Mehlville school district to give back to the community through service. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of financial need, academic standing and most importantly, the impact with which multiple sclerosis has affected their lives. Applicants must be citizens of the United States who plan to enroll or are enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, vocational or technical school located in the United States. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester in course work leading to a degree, license or certificate. There is no application fee to apply for this scholarship; however a gesture of a small donation with your application is certainly appreciated. Whether or not a donation is made will have no bearing on determining which students receive the scholarship awards. Checks should be made out to “Elaine Chapin Fund/NMSS”. The scholarship is being run through the Gateway Area Chapter (St. Louis) of the National MS Society and all donations are 100% tax deductible. For the Fall 2015 scholarship awards, applicants must send their completed application, an official transcript of their most recent academic grades, a personal essay detailing how MS has affected your life (500 word maximum), plus (2) letters of reference by April 30, 2015 to the address listed at the top of the scholarship application for consideration. The final selection of the scholarship recipients will be made by the family of Elaine Chapin.

Although Lifewaters organisation has members who are patients of the Department of Veteran's Affairs and may have VA employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the VA. It (Lifewaters) is a separated and independent organisation which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The VA does not direct, supervise or control the organisation and is not responsible for the organisation’s contracts, acts or omissions.
