From its inception, Fever Bar & Lounge, in Newark, New Jersey was designed to fill a void in the Newark nightclub scene. The premiere entertainment venue is owned by world-renowned DJ, producer, and nightclub impresario Shaheer Williams. A Newark native son, as a child prodigy on the turntables a 7-year-old Williams started building a name with his DJ skills, and by the age of 15 was an international success, gaining wide acclaim throughout Europe—from Italy, France, and Switzerland and beyond, where he also studied the mechanisms of party making. Returning to the states, Williams saw the need for a premium nightlife spot in the ever-growing landscape of Newark’s cultural life, that caters to the LGBT community. Fever Bar & Lounge will be the highlight of Newark’s entertainment locations. Partnered with music and entertainment mogul Angelo Ellerbee (the powerbroker responsible for bolstering the successful careers of A-list celebrities such as, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, DMX, and Mary J. Blige), the dynamic duo has come together to create a series of high-end events. From showcases for singers, comedy nights, karaoke, birthday and private parties, to theme, and tailored events—that will be the premiere attraction for Newarkers and those partaking in the diverse community of New Jersey’s greatest city. The stylish atmosphere of the location, its beautiful interior setting and signature drinks will all make any night at FEVER hot. But, setting the night on fire will be celebrated DJs like Tony Humphries, Naeem Johnson, Louie Vega, and Shameer Williams, all whose tremendous talents on the turntables have made people travel from all over to enjoy their unique skills, insuring that Fever Bar & Lounge is poised for success. With Ellerbee’s background in the industry, Fever-ites can expect celebrities from among his vast roster of entertainers to drop-in, from songstress Alicia Keys to the ever-sexy Ginuwine, to Real Housewives of ATL’s Marlo Hampton and others, who will run to frequent “The New Newark”. FEVER BAR & LOUNGE will be the destination location for celebrations and amazing nights of memories for the LGBT community, but it will also be a prime location for outreach, workshops, and other community-minded ventures during the quieter hours of the club, bringing awareness to many important issues and causes. FEVER BAR & LOUNGE is exactly what Newark has been waiting for and Ellerbee and Williams are going to make sure that those who have been starving for FEVER will never be cold again!

Mission- Index Art Center is a 501 (c3) non-profit contemporary arts organization dedicated to supporting and promoting visual arts in Newark, NJ. Collaborating with schools and other non-profit organizations to provide educational and community-based programs in an active art gallery, IAC serves as both a critical link between art and community and as a conduit for up and coming artists. Activities- IAC presents a diverse, year-round program of new exhibits in its gallery, including collaborative projects with community organizations, charities, and other non-profit groups. Additionally, IAC provides educational programming such as artist talks, special tours, and workshops for young artists, high school and college students. We screen works by local, national and international artists. History- IAC was established in May 2009 by Lowell Craig, Seth Goodwin, and DC Smith. Founders of the former Redsaw Gallery and active members of Newark’s early art scene, the three have bolstered Newark’s fledgling art community by actively and continuously promoting new and local artists. The collaborations of Lowell, Seth and DC have played a critical role in revitalizing both the city’s galleries and its downtown development. Admission is free and open to the public.
