Bridge Bread is a unique and successful social enterprise built on 3 key factors: 1) 75¢ out of every dollar generated from the sales of Bridge Bread goes to workers' compensation. 2) Because bread is a consumable, customers keep coming back week after week to buy more bread. 3) Bread Baking is a valuable trade skill that provides a sustainable source of income for homeless and out-of-work individuals. The poor and homeless will always be with us. However, collectively we have the power to make a difference and lessen the severity of homelessness. Helping a homeless and out-of-work person find a way to return to leading a productive life and gain a sense of dignity in the process is right and just. We are our brother’s keeper and lending a hand to the least and the lost is the responsibility of us all. Together we can make a difference one life at a time. We invite you to contact Fred Domke at [email protected] to learn more about Bridge Bread and how your church or on-profit organization can begin to make a difference in the lives of those seeking an opportunity to learn a meaningful job skill and a pathway to a better life. Bridge Bread Bakery is a Missouri nonprofit corporation with federal 501(c)(3) status.
As Red Fox, Jenny, Chris, and Jake built an brick oven together in the backyard of delightful South City grocery, Grove East Provisions. There they bake naturally-fermented artisan loaves and scrumptious pastries to be sold in-house and all around town. We fire up our oven and bake Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Find our stuff all week long at Grove East Provisions! Also available at Local Harvest and City Greens, and a handful of restaurants around town. To the staff of life!
It all started with two girls who like to eat dessert and like to bake. Well, let's be honest, one girl who likes to bake, the other one just likes to "sample" the goods! Our goal is to offer our 4 personal favorites: cookies, donuts, cheesecake and pie. Right now we are starting with the mini-cheesecakes and pies. It's all about the babysteps! Place your order for either a box of 9 or 12 cheesecakes. We can mix and match or keep it simple with your 1 favorite kind. Otherwise pick from our favorite selection of pies! We love to make them and we love to eat them and so will you!
