In 2003 Anthony and Kim Thompson started the Kwame Foundation. The Kwame Foundation is a non –profit organization that provide young people an opportunity to learn, grow, and become professionals in their chosen careers. To accomplish our mission the Kwame Foundation provides financial assistance, educational mentorships, internship opportunities, and training in careers consistent with those needed to compete in a changing environment. Although we serve students of all races, our target is minority students pursuing post-secondary and graduate degrees who are bright, talented, high-achieving individuals that would not otherwise have an opportunity for higher education. One of the principles upon which Kwame Foundation was founded was to provide opportunities for growth, development and leadership to young professionals. As an extension of that principle – and in alignment with our holistic approach to sustainability – KWAME supports various education and mentorship focused organizations. In addition, through the Kwame Foundation, we endow scholarships at various institutions of higher learning across the country in order to assist in removing the financial barrier that exists for many minority and first generation college students.

The Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse is the largest single courthouse in the United States. It is the main office of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. It was named after the U.S. Senator Thomas F. Eagleton.The courthouse is 29 stories tall and covers 987775sqft. It is the fifth tallest habitable building in Missouri. It is located in downtown St. Louis at 111 South 10th Street. The exterior of the courthouse follows a classical tripartite scheme, a scheme that uses the split-level stacking concept. Its height is 557ft. The construction of the building was completed in 2000. The architects involved with the building were Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum and EDM Incorporated. The building cost $186,000,000 to build.

It's funny how you can get hooked on something. For my wife and me, we were just due for a camera upgrade, especially with an upcoming kid at the time. A 1.3MP digital-zoom only wasn't going to cut it. I buried my brain in all the technical aspects of a camera. "Why are there two max apertures? Sensor size? Crop factor? Depth of field?" When we finally purchased our Canon A570IS, I went nuts, especially with its macro capability. I was never content with fully automatic mode after having realized its potential, so I learned the priority and manual modes. I learned more about exposure, composition, and lighting. Finally, here I am with my T1i, finding myself drawn to the night sky, wildlife, and landscapes. I used to be "stuck" with the camera, and was never very excited to document vacations or family events when I was a teenager. Now, the camera is stuck to me, and I shoot with the intent of getting it right upon releasing the shutter...not out of technical perfection, but because I saw it. Sure, digital alterations can be fun projects, but I photograph because I want to be able to go back and recall what I had seen with my eyes, what I thought was beautiful, ugly, elegant, simple, and everything in between.
