The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco-style skyscraper located on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue in the Turtle Bay neighborhood. At 1,046ft, the structure was the world's tallest building for 11 months before it was surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931.It is the tallest brick building in the world, albeit with a steel frame. After the destruction of the World Trade Center, it was again the second-tallest building in New York City until December 2007, when the spire was raised on the 1,200-foot (365.8 m) Bank of America Tower, pushing the Chrysler Building into third position. In addition, The New York Times Building, which opened in 2007, is exactly level with the Chrysler Building in height. Both buildings were then pushed into fourth position, when the under-construction One World Trade Center surpassed their height, and then to fifth position by 432 Park Avenue which was completed in 2015.

The end-core brick and masonry structure was built in 1925, and in 2001 underwent renovations in excess of $14 million under architects Moed de Armas & Shannon. 1440 Broadway is 100% occupied. BUILDING AMENITIES Building improvements include hi-tech video boards in the lobby walkway, state-of-the-art security systems with automatic digital card scanner turnstiles, and new steel and fitted glass elevator cabs. The Broadway entry features a three bay flush-glass storefront and limestone piers with aluminum canopies. In the main building lobby, the ceiling has been raised to 18 feet. The walls and flooring are Tassos white marble and the elevator core is a deep red Rosso Collemadia marble. The final touch on the lobby renovations is the recent addition of a 15 foot, Mariko Mori work of art. The 1440 Broadway refrigeration plant consists of a 480-ton Trane electric centrifugal chiller, a 500-ton York direct fired absorption chiller, and three 500-ton Evapco cooling towers. The building is also serviced by tenant-controlled, air cooled package units. TENANT PROFILES 1440 Broadway is 100% Leased. Located on the northwest corner of Park Avenue South and 27th Street, 386 Park Avenue South is conveniently located next to the 6 subway, offering subway access directly adjacent to the building's entrance. BUILDING AMENITIES The ornate marble lobby features 10 foot ceiling heights and a side entrance to the Chase Manhattan Bank which serves as the exclusive retail tenant at 386 Park Avenue South. The L shaped concrete encased steel building was built in 1927 and underwent elevator renovations in 1990. Four newly modernized elevators service the 20-story building, in addition to two freight elevators. For interior cooling, 386 Park Avenue South offers individual Tenant controlled air-conditioning packaged units. Heat is produced by two low-pressure boilers. 386 Park Avenue South also features a newly installed Class-E life safety system and is fully sprinklered.
