Located on the backlot of Universal Studios Florida in Sound Stage 25, the DAVE School's 35,000 square foot facility includes 3 labs, a shooting stage with a massive 65'x 25' green screen, and a state of the art motion capture system.
Florida Christian University grew from Florida Theological Seminary, founded in 1985, by the first president Rev. Dr. Harold L. Shindoll, ThD. The seminary was the visionary foundation of Florida Christian University. Undergraduate and Graduate students in “Biblical Studies,” “Pastoral Leadership,” and “Theology” may have their diplomas with the title of either “Florida Christian University” or “Florida Theological Seminary.” These “Biblical Studies,” “Pastoral Leadership,” and “Theology” courses will apply for a degree for graduation from either “Florida Christian University” or “Florida Theological Seminary.” In the beginning academic programs were limited to classes at the Orlando campus. But distance learning education programs by video, independent study, and online provided for the university’s Global Outreach to meet the growing student interest. Upon the death of its founder Dr. Shindoll in 1998, his wife, Mrs. Dr. Floralee A. Shindoll, PhD was elected president and later President Emeritus. In 1999 Dr. Anthony Portigliatti PhD, was elected President and Chancellor with substantial institutional growth in the academic programs and global outreach which included University programs. The University promotes global outreach distance learning education programs by video, independent study, and online. The University supports the development of both campus and distance learning education programs with qualified faculty and use of state of the art technological infrastructure. Courses are offered in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The University develops adjunct instruction in different areas with the participation of international adjunct instructors invited to these events. Florida Christian University is the center of ministerial development and support for Florida Theological Seminary, American Ministers Association and Global Reach Christian Church.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers a variety of classes, ranging from Self Defense to Sport BJJ. Whether you want to be a Vale Tudo champion or just get in shape, you can accomplish your goals in an uplifting, friendly environment under the supervision of qualified instructors. The curriculum is designed to help students achieve the maximum results out of their time and effort. All classes begin with a warm-up and stretching period, followed by a technical lesson, drills and live grappling. Check our Schedule for specific class times. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu This class focuses on learning and applying the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Students practice various techniques using a traditional gi/kimono. Beginners will learn and practice: break falls, escapes, positioning, leverage and opening the guard. Intermediate and Advanced students will learn and practice: advanced sweeps, advanced submissions, advanced escapes and counters. Competition is encouraged but not required. Open to all members. No-GI/Submission Grappling This class focuses on learning and applying the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the traditional GI/kimono. Students practice various techniques wearing academy shorts and an academy t-shirt. Students will learn and practice: break falls, escapes, positioning, leverage and opening the guard. Students will also learn and practice: advanced sweeps, advanced submissions, advanced escapes and counters. Competition is encouraged but not required. Competition is encouraged but not required. Open to advanced members Muay Thai Kickboxing Thai training methods develop devastating power, speed and superb cardio-vascular endurance as well as fighting spirit. Muay Thai training as also quite safe thanks to sophisticated pad training that evolved to keep fighters healthy between fights. Competition is encouraged but not required. Open to all members. Self Defense This class focuses on using the basics techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in self defense situations. Beginners will learn how to: break falls to prevent head or back injury, defend against common grips like the headlock or bearhug from behind and immobilize an attacker on the ground. Intermediate and advanced students will learn how to: reverse an attacker from the bottom position, force an attacker into submission and defend against armed assailants. Open to all members. Kid's Class The kid's class offers a fun, friendly and safe environment for children to learn and experience Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Students learn basic self defense and sport BJJ techniques while getting exercise and socializing with other children. Competition is encouraged but not required. Open to ages from 5 through 15. MMA/Vale Tudo/No Holds Barred In this class students learn to combine muay thai striking and defense with jiu-itsu in a vale tudo setting. This is more of a training session than an instructional class. Open to advanced members. Private / Semi-Private Classes Private classess are a great way to improve your jiu-jitsu game. If you are having difficulty grasping certain techniques or need to work on a certain aspect of your game, privates give you an opportunity to take your game to the next level. During your private class you will receive: 1-on-1 instruction All of the attention is focused on you without the distractions of a group class. Technical Analysis The instructor will analyze the way you perform techniques, point out any flaws and show you how to fix them Customized Techniques You will learn setups, defenses and attacks designed to fit your body type and grappling style.
