2331 Market St
San Francisco, CA 94114

(415) 431-3134

Walk into IXIA and branches, tree trunks, and driftwood surround you. Mosses, stones, succulents, seed-pods, and other forms borrowed from nature create a palette of texture. And wherever you look, you see tradition blend with innovation, in designs that range from fresh takes on the familiar to the artfully exotic. For over 25 years, IXIA has been creating arrangements that reflect the wonder of the natural world. Our passion is evident in everything we create, from the smallest arrangement to the largest installation, and in art pieces that last an evening or a decade. Come and explore our work, here or in our shop in San Francisco. We now have more photo's being posted on both Tumblr, and Pinterest. http://ixiasf.tumblr.com/ https://www.pinterest.com/i2899/

The Love of Ganesha
Distance: 0.9 mi Competitive Analysis
1573 Haight St
San Francisco, CA 94117

It is exceedingly difficult to describe The Love of Ganesha. More so given the categories and character limits that Facebook asks us to stick to, but here goes an attempt: In San Francisco, gentrification is real, really real talk. It's all too easy to distance ourselves and intellectualize the issue, but The Love of Ganesha is at risk of eviction. Noot, an extraordinary, possibly extraterrestrial woman has run it for decades. I fail to adequately express the generosity and kindness that makes up the life force of this woman or the love and community this place inspires; thankfully Yelpers around the world have done a bang up job in my stead: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-love-of-ganesha-san-francisco Noot is getting priced out by her landlord, who is asking her to pay more than double her current rent. We don't seek to demonize gentrification here - it is what it is, a complex issue. But there is something about The Love of Ganesha that hooks deep into you, spending time in there quickly bonds you to the space and the people who keep it going. We are just some of the droves who've been touched by this space. If you've been there, you know what we mean. If you haven't and want to, we'd be honored to show you. The connections people make to Noot and The Love of Ganesha space reverberate worldwide. We wanted to create this page to see and catch up with our beloved friends all over and let them know what Noot, her team, and her community are facing. We'd be so grateful if you could Like the FB page and, if it resonates, contribute to the Indiegogo campaign that we'll launch in coming weeks. We're also trying to figure out a sustainable long-term business plan in coming months. Anything you can do (this includes comments, advice, ideas, sharing your story about the store, anything!) would be so, so deeply felt. Endless love to you all.

Dancers' Group
Distance: 0.9 mi Competitive Analysis
44 Gough St, Ste 201
San Francisco, CA 94103

(415) 920-9181

In 1982, Dancers' Group was established by a highly respected group of teachers, choreographers, community activists and students led by Vernon Fuquay, Aaron Osborne and Wayne Hazzard. In its first 18 years, the organizations administrative home and studio at Mission and 22nd Street (known originally as Footwork Studio and eventually Dancers' Group Studio Theater) was a vital performance space presenting master artists from around the world and showcasing the growing talents of Bay Area choreographers including Lucas Hoving, Joanna Haigood, Joe Goode, Rosa Montoya and Ed Mock. In 1992, with the demise of the service organization Dance Bay Area, Dancers' Group stepped forward to ensure that several of their vital services would remain, including the Parachute Fund, group health insurance and In Dance, At the same time, Dancers' Group formalized its Fiscal Sponsorship program, forging ahead as a school, presenter and now a service entity for dance artists. Given its new role in the community, it continued to institute partnerships that provide needed advocacy and visibility for dance. Dancers' Group collaborated with Theater Bay Area in 1999 on CA$H, a funding program which continues to provide financial support for Northern California's professionally oriented theatre and dance artists and small companies. And in 2001, Dancers’ Group began work with five other dance service organizations statewide to develop the California Dance Network, a tool for connecting dance artists and industry workers throughout the state. At the height of the San Francisco space-crisis that erupted from the dot-com boom in 2000, Dancers' Group was evicted from its home in the Mission. The loss of the studio allowed Dancers' Group to investigate its mission and services to the dance field, and after many community meetings the organization emerged stronger and with a renewed sense of direction as a service organization and presenter. Founder Wayne Hazzard [executive artistic director 1989-2000], returned to the organization in 2006 to lead Dancers’ Group into the next period of growth. Through this renewed leadership, the organization expanded staff and community partnerships that allowed for substantial increases in contributed income. This set the stage for new programming including free public presenting, new granting programs and improved services for dance artists. In August 2007, Dancers’ Group relocated its office operations to the current location in the SOMA district. The new home provides space for the six regular staff members, a community meeting area and places Dancers’ Group in an arts rich neighborhood at the heart of San Francisco.

(Please read the following in an English accent for proper effect.) It was a time of woe and ugly t-shirts. So begins the tale of three young and fine nobles who banded together to undertake a quest to form the most exquisite design and print house in the land. After many adventures, involving the slaying of dragons and mythical creatures our heroes settled in ye olde San Francisco and formed (queue epic baroque music) the Lords of Print. Ok, seriously. Matthew Na Sal, Rick Kitagawa and Aaron Bray are the brains and brawn behind Lords of Print, a one-stop-shop for all t-shirt and poster printing needs with services ranging from design, production, live event printing, artist branding and merchandising services and we even host screen printing workshops. Located in the vibrant and exciting city San Francisco, the three of us strive to bring our diverse talents and skills together in order to give our customers high quality products and an epic experience

Curated State provides both partial and full home staging. Our large storehouse of continually updated pieces allows for curation of both small and larger-scale projects quickly. Curated State creates spaces that are sophisticated, imaginative and unique - a place where life happens. Artwork is a key component of this, never an afterthought. We carefully select and place one-of-kind artwork in homes that enhance both the unique characteristics of the art and of the home. Whether it’s the work of an emerging talent or a more established artist, the goal is that work should challenge the audience, but the viewing experience should not. By inviting a captive audience of prospective homebuyers, art-lovers and the public to enjoy the art in the comfort of a well-appointed home, the art becomes more accessible -- traditional art venues often can be restrictive, limiting accessibility to quality work. Curated State emphasizes balanced and flexible partnerships with its artists that elevate the artists while allowing for highly competitive staging fees. Please contact us for a complimentary consultation: Complete and partial home staging - interior and exterior Color consultation Painting Flooring Gardening Moving and temporary storage Cleaning and decluttering Art installation and moving

Fabulous design and ethical choices. We do not want to reduce the viability of luxury products by selling things that hurt our environment today. The resources and technology exist today to allow customers to have a green choice. By creating transparency in our "traditional" industry, we can all feel good about what we are buying and selling. We believe that sustainability must take into account all of these aspects: social, environmental, cultural, and economic. You have to do this on a local level.
