TEDxMidAtlantic 2016: New Rules The world is changing fast. Often so fast that we don’t take the time to think about what kind of society and future we actually want to build. Politics has become disconnected from fact. Innovation is pursued without consideration of ethics. Around the world, we are building walls instead of bridges. New Rules asks: • How can we be more empathetic when we design for the future? • How can we reconnect policy with facts, truth, and logic? • What ethics should we pursue as we shape our rapidly changing world? The answers are elusive — but we become stronger when we ask these questions together. What are the New Rules that will help guide us for the next century?

About The Heimbach Eaves Class of 81 Foundation (formerly known as the Jesuit High School Class of 1981 Charitable Foundation) was established to help those from the Tampa Jesuit High School Class of 1981 who experience hardship and are in need. Mission The Foundation will focus not only on those members of our class and their families who experience misfortune and hardship, but also more generally on the greater charitable needs of others. The Foundation has a particular focus on providing immediate financial relief to those who experience hardship and are in need. Company Overview We believe those of us who have experienced success and God’s blessings have a greater obligation to help those in need–not only because we can, but because we should. We believe this is consistent with the fundamental teachings we have learned from our Jesuit experience to be “Men for Others.” The guiding principle will be action, not words. Those involved with the Foundation will stand vigilant to look out for those who have endured hardship and to extend our hands in help to those in critical need, both financially and otherwise. Description The Heimbach Eaves Class of 81 Foundation was originally established in 2008 by several of your classmates from the 1981 graduating class of Jesuit High School of Tampa. The Foundation is organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a tax-exempt private foundation. Following a long process with the Internal Revenue Service, the IRS approved the tax-exempt status of the Foundation by official notice on September 13, 2010. Tragedy inspired the creation of the Foundation. The Foundation was inspired by the untimely death of Mark Eaves, one of our classmates as well as the misfortune that certain other classmates have experienced. When Matt Heimbach, one of our classmates was confronted with overwhelming medical challenges, the Class of ‘81 responded in traditional high fashion – donating time, energy, money and in-kind gifts in order to help alleviate an otherwise devastating situation. In the wake of that event, Class of ‘81 alumni realized some needs could not be met by existing structures. We also realized that the fastest and most effective way to fix that problem was to create the Foundation. General Information Directions and forms for donations are set up on the website for the Foundation at the following website address: http://jhsclassof81charity.org/ under the page entitled “Donation Information”. You can make donations directly through PayPal by visiting www.ClickStartMe.com and searching for the Heimbach Eaves crowdfunding project. You can also print out a donation form and make donations through other traditional methods described in the donor form.
