Since we opened the doors to our original flagship store, Old Market Pub & Brewery, in ’94, our beers have only become more organic, expansive and delicious! At both locations, our extensive menu offers made from scratch, Customer Favorite burgers, Brewer’s Best Sellers like the Pub Grub Sandwich and ½ Pound Chicken Breast Fingers, as well as many vegetarian options. And because we were in the pizza business long before we were in the brewery business, any of our delicious pizza, pasta and calzones paired with our fine, frosty ales can’t be beat! For the Jung brothers, Michael & Eugene, childhood fun meant playing ping pong. Whether it was with our parents, with their friends, or just with each other, ping pong was a guaranteed good time, every time. After realizing that growing up wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, we decided to find our fun again in 2012 by throwing pop-up ping pong parties around town. A year & a half later, with the lessons learned from dozens of events & the courage inspired by hundreds of fans, we went all-in to build the permanent ping pong paradise that Portland deserves.

The Jolly Roger was originally located on Powell Blvd until the owner lost his lease, and moved the sign over to its new location on 12 & Madison in the early 90’s. The Cheerful group purchased The Jolly Roger in the Summer of 2002. The partners remodeled the interior, and began the process of turning it into the neighborhood landmark that it is today. In 2004 Rob & Starr Jackson bought out their partners to become the sole owners. There have been numerous remodels since then, including the addition of a patio area. The Jacksons also own The Sports Page at 8590 SW Hall Blvd in Beaverton and their newest addition, The Jolly Roger at John’s Landing 5627 SW Kelly St in Portland, which opened in 2009. You can still find them tending bar at one of their locations across Portland.

hobnob; hob and nob "to toast each other by turns, to buy alternate rounds of drinks," probably from Middle English habbe "to have" and nabbe, "to have not," hence, "to have and have not, to give and take.", first recorded 1756. We believe in the premise of toasting, sharing and meeting new friends. We also believe in cooking pub style meals the way they were intended: everything from scratch and with a carefully over the top palate.
