Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system. With classes and instructors worldwide, anyone can Join the Party! Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves. Squats and lunges are also included. Each class session is a minimum of one hour. Instructor Kristina Nekyia trained in Mongolian contortion with Serchmaa Byamba at San Francisco Circus Center. Because she began her training as an adult she dedicated herself to understanding methods of improving flexibility and control that are healthy and safe, taking into account the individual's body type and goals. She has combined training in Pilates and dance with the Mongolian contortion techniques, offering students great improvements in flexibility while increasing strength, maintaining joint stability, and improving technique.
