The Gramophone was born in 2008 as an intimate concert club and bar. After 7 years and over 1500 great shows we changed gears and became a neighborhood tavern with an eclectic sandwich menu and tons of beers and booze. We have pool, darts, pinball beer to go and are way too friendly.
For over a decade, Modesto Tapas Bar and Restaurant has become the choice Spanish restaurant in St. Louis. Patrick Connolly of County Galway, Ireland, began his barkeep career in 1942 when he opened the Pat Connolly Tavern, and for two decades he worked to create a St. Louis landmark. Although the tavern has changed names and owners over the years, it has now returned to the Connolly family and the original name. We are proud to continue the tradition that Pat started over 70 years ago, offering classic pub fare and fine spirits in a family-friendly atmosphere. Gaslight Lounge is a new, unique venue focused on music and art in St. Louis. Gaslight Lounge is the first of its kind—a space that will provide music lovers with “behind-the-scenes” access to the creative process of audio and visual documentation of musical performance. The venue (located at 4916 Shaw Ave., St. Louis, on The Hill) will house a recording studio, a bar and lounge area, and a walk-up food counter from the popular Cha Cha Chow food truck. Patrons of Gaslight will be able to view and listen to a musical performance as it is being recorded in a professional studio setting. A floor-to-ceiling window on one wall of the performance area/studio will allow unlimited visibility of the recording process. The building will also be outfitted with cutting-edge audio and visual equipment to provide a live feed to the action in the studio. The venue is now booking local, regional, and national artists to be among the first to experience Gaslight’s visionary approach to recording musical performances. Spots are also available for youth and high-school music groups and “rock schools” that want to document their songs and performances while parents and classmates take in the music. Gaslight Lounge is brimming with possibilities for musical and artistic expression and appreciation. And the grand opening in Fall 2015 is only the beginning of a musical experience that St. Louis—and rest of the world—has never had access to before.

Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company is an award-winning chocolatier founded in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to the opening in 1981, our founding chocolatier spent years training with the finest candy makers across the country. His apprenticeship taught him the secrets of handcrafting premium chocolates in small batches. Some of the recipes used today were passed down from candy maker to candy maker dating back to 1904. Here is our story: An Italian immigrant, John Volpi, ventured from his home in Milan in 1900 in search of the American Dream. He settled in the American heartland, which was rich in the raw materials used in his trade. He was a salumiere – a master of salami, prosciutto and all other dry cured meats – and he was determined to continue his profession in his newly adopted land. Combining his experience with irrepressible dedication, Volpi recreated the cured meats of his native Italy using prime, fresh Midwestern pork and beef plus the finest spices and seasonings. Armando Pasetti, nephew of the founder John Volpi, was sent from Italy at the tender age of fourteen to learn the trade. Upon the passing of John Volpi, Armando Pasetti became the president of Volpi Foods, Inc. in 1957. Throughout his career, Armando has kept close ties to family and friends in Italy. He learned to apply improvements in technology and equipment, but never sacrificed quality or compromised the Volpi standards of excellence. His entire life has been dedicated to constantly improve a great Italian tradition. Lorenza Pasetti, became the president of Volpi Foods, Inc. in 2002. Joined by the third generation of salumieri, Volpi continues to bring America premium Italian meats. Time, tradition and respect for the profession are still the driving forces behind the company, and the results speak for themselves – the finest Italian gourmet meat available anywhere!
