The Bayou Review is a literary magazine published by students of the University of Houston-Downtown. It includes poetry, fiction, essays, reviews, and visual art. The magazine is primarily a venue for the publication of works by UHD students, but faculty and staff submissions are also encouraged.

Over the years, as TUTS has evolved, so has Leading Ladies. Today, this group of influential community leaders serve as ambassadors of musical theatre, pioneers of new works, and supporters of an arts education to all children, regardless of ability.
The American Cancer Society presents the 2nd annual Houston Corks and Forks event. This unique event features a lively culinary competition highlighting some of Houston’s top chefs. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food tastings paired with fine wines as they watch the chefs show-off their culinary skills. Throughout the evening, attendees will cast their vote, via text messaging, for their favorite dish as well as their favorite chef. The winner of the highly sought-after Culinary Crown will be announced at the conclusion of the event. Attendees will also enjoy music, live and silent auctions, a wine pull, and other fun activities. The goal of the evening is to raise critical funds to support the American Cancer Society’s continued mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. This is the perfect occasion to honor those who have won the fight against cancer, those who are still fighting, and those that have sadly lost the battle against cancer.
