In 2002, Jinza Jin's enthusiasm for couture bridalwear resulted in the launch of her highly acclaimed salon and adjacent production atelier. Located in a charming Victorian building in San Francisco, JINZA Couture Bridal earned The Knot Magazine's Best of Weddings Award for Best Bridal Salon in San Francisco in 2010 and 2012. In early 2015, JINZA opened its second store on the famous La Cienaga street in West Hollywood of Los Angeles. Each JINZA dress is individually sized and newly crafted for each customer in our San Francisco production atelier. Using the finest French lace, pure silk satin, organza taffeta, crepe and chiffon, we create lightweight and comfortable couture dresses. Our stores carry a wide selection of wedding gowns designed and hand-made by JINZA, along with accessories, veils, jewelry and shoes. ABOUT THE DESIGNER A native designer who spent her career at the forefront of fashion, Jinza Jin began a sweeping takeover of the bridal industry at a very young age. In the 1980s, she was one of the few talented students sent to Japan to study fabric design from a famous Japanese designer. Fifteen years ago, she started her own fashion business in the United States to design evening gowns, bridal dresses, and bridesmaid dresses. Today, the salon continues to showcase collections known for feminine detailing and a classic approach to bridal design. With a focus on bridal gowns, Jinza's design philosophy is that "comfortable" and "fancy" can exist at the same time. Famous for her detailed approach to style and luxury, Jinza Jin's collections resonate with her signature fabrics, intricate pattern drafting and exquisite attention to detail.
We specialize in couture bridal and evening wear. All of our gowns are designed by Suzanne Hanley and made in our atelier on Russian Hill in San Francisco. We use the finest 100% silks from Italy and laces from France, and all of our beading is done in house with gemstones and freshwater pearls. Our atelier features the current collection which ranges in price from $3000-$10,000. Jewelry and accessories designed in house as well as one of a kind pieces from local designers, compliment the collection. The couture process begins with a 90 minute consultation with Suzanne Hanley (the owner/designer) who will help you choose the neckline, bodice structure, skirt shape, fabric and trim details of your dress. A written price quote with fabric swatches is provided. After the gown has been ordered, Suzanne makes your pattern and construction begins with a test of the dress in lightweight cotton, to refine fit and details before cutting the silk. Five fittings and 6 month lead time is requested.

Yueh-Wen Chang (Wen) of Sora Designs knew from a young age her path in life should be in the arts, but opted for a career in academics. She eventually got her Ph.D. in early intervention from the Joint Doctoral Program at U.C. Berkeley and San Francisco State University. While in the graduate school, Wen started making jewelry as an innocent creative outlet for her mom, sisters and friends. Her hands would always be busy sewing or knitting or wire wrapping or baking goodies if not working on her dissertation. Sora Designs was started on a whim in the fall of 2008, after months of lurking and browsing through the Etsy site. Shockingly after a few days, an item sold and then another. The whim became an obsession and the world is never the same again. Shortly after one year, Wen quit her day job as a researcher at a government agency to design/craft/operate Sora Designs full time. "Sora" means "sky" in Japanese. "Possibilities are as open as the sky" is the motto for Wen’s new obsession. She strives to make jewelry that are functional and stunning as well as affordable. She uses many recycled or environmentally friendly materials. Her favorite materials are vintage buttons and artifacts; vintage Lucite beads and pendants; colorful semiprecious stones; and fabrics.
