Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center (GACC) is an artist-run contemporary arts and cultural organization located in Seattle, WA. GACC exhibits work by emerging artists, and works with artists of all ages to become agents of creative change in the community. With two unique Rental Spaces, we have a diverse facility with plenty of space for creative design and planning. Centrally located and easily accessible from both I-5 and WA-99, Seattle Design Center is a great choice for a variety of beautiful functions. Weddings and all other events in the Plaza resonate with a serene, intimate, elegant ambiance. With a built in stage on-site, surrounded by a backdrop of live-foliage and two decorative, up-lit fountains, the mood in the Plaza is always peaceful and cool. The four-story glass ceiling exposes the sky above for an added element of sophistication. Our 8700 square foot Atrium is a wonderful venue for celebrations large and small. With an open floor-plan, warm wood ceilings and sky-lights that follow the length of the room, our guests are always enchanted and delighted to party under the stars. The west end of the Atrium features a grand staircase which leads to the balcony where guests enjoy a birds-eye perspective of the excitement below.
Yogasmith is a community based yoga space located in Seattle's historic Georgetown neighborhood. Our mission is to create an environment that is so supportive and life enriching that even after the final om, you won’t want to leave. Classes are taught in classic Hatha style and address all aspects of what it means to be a human being. Each practice includes meditation, breathwork, yogic philosophy, and postures. Status Ceramics is an small, handmade artisan tile company located in Seattle, Washington.
Our mission is to exhibit local and regional Pacific NW artists with an emphasis on introducing new and emerging artists to the Seattle scene. We're currently mounting shows at All City Coffee in Georgetown, but plan to curate more venues city wide. This future plan is referred to in our name: All City Georgetown. VARDO- A Vardo is a traditional horse-drawn wagon used by British Romani people as their home. Possessing a chimney, it is commonly thought of as being highly decorated, intricately carved, brightly painted, and even gilded Vardo Antiques and Oddities Vardo is a unique shop consisting of treasures from the past rediscovered, oddities plucked from the shadows of time, as well as many strange and wonderful creations from relics of the natural, and not so natural earth. Walk through the door of Vardo and into a virtual time machine. Vintage clothing and accessories ranging from the romance of the turn of the century and early 1900’s, to the beauty of the 1930’s and 40’s, and into the funky and playful style of the 1960’s and 70’s. Beautiful vintage compacts, boot hooks, cigarette holders, sugar spoons, lipstick holders, hat pins, hair combs, and any abundance of oddities await you at our little shop. We will also have some early to mid century tables, lamps, chairs and other small furniture to breath simple class and style to any space. We will feature local artists, jewelry makers, designers and their creations. Vardo is ran By Lucretia and Lisa Al-Hakim. Lisa has lived and been active in Georgetown since 2009 she has been making her own clothes, jewelry, and accessories since she was very young. She has worked in museams, vintage shops, and has been collecting since she was in her teens. Lucretia lives in Idaho and has been collecting, appraising, running her own vintage shop, working with theater companies, working with museums, lecturing on fashion, and putting on fashion shows for 45 years. We are both very excited to open our doors and share our strange and eccentric world with you.
Steve Withycombe graduated from the School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology 1997, with an AAS Degree in Industrial Design, and an AOS Degree in Woodworking and Furniture Design. From there, he moved to the Rhode Island School of Design where he finished his BFA Degree in Furniture Design. In 1999, Steve moved to the Seattle, Washington where he opened his own studio and has been doing custom furniture, residential and commercial design build as the owner of Swithyco Furniture.
Located in the Old Rainier Brewery, Rainier Glass Studio hosts classes, seminars, all ages activities and corporate and private events for adults and kids alike.
