The Student Union Building (SUB) at the University of New Mexico acts as a community center to students, staff and faculty. The Student Union creates a sense of community for the student life population supported by many programs and services that take place within the structure of the building. The SUB is a leader on campus and provides many high-tech conveniences, essential services and cultural enrichment's to the UNM community. The University of New Mexico Student Union's mission is to maintain the highest standard in support, services and programming in order to promote a strong sense of community and student life. The University of New Mexico is a public research university located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bernard Shandon Rodey, a judge of the territory of New Mexico, pushed for Albuquerque as the location of the university and was one of the authors of the statute that created UNM, earning him the title of "Father of the University." Two years later, Elias S. Stover became the first president of the University and the following year the university's first building, Hodgin Hall, opened.

From the Alumni Center at the newly restored Hodgin Hall, the Alumni Association and Alumni Relations Office keep the University of New Mexico and its alumni communicating and connected, offering awards, scholarships, career resources, university advocacy, travel opportunities, and more. Everyone who graduates from UNM is automatically a member of the Alumni Association—there are no dues.

Seating up to 1985 patrons, Popejoy Hall is the largest such venue in the state. Following a major renovation in 1996 and seating replacement in summer 2007, Popejoy hosts touring Broadway shows, symphony concerts, musical soloists and artists of international caliber, world-renowned ballet and modern dance companies, and noted speakers from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

We've screened cinematic faves like Ghostbusters, Evil Dead, Re-Animator, The Warriors, Goonies, Labyrinth and Dark Crystal. We've introduced audiences to modern faves like The Room, Birdemic, John Dies at the End, Repo: The Genetic Opera and Tokyo Gore Police. Over the years, we've brought in special guests like Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger), Alex Cox (Repo Man), Whitney Moore (Birdemic) and Jim Kelly (Enter the Dragon).
