Carroll Avenue is a street situated in Los Angeles, near Echo Park. It is in Angelino Heights, one of the older neighborhoods of Los Angeles. It consists of Victorian-era houses within a picturesque neighborhood, which has served as the backdrop for countless motion pictures from the earliest days of cinema to the present.HistoryCarroll Avenue is one of Los Angeles' first suburbs, and bears its name well, as it brings the city many tourists and visitors. Aurelito is a deejay and co-founder of LA's notorious Chocolate Bar Parties and owner operator of the iconic I&I Sound System ice cream truck. Aurelito has worked on events with some of the most ground breaking artists such as Lee Scratch Perry, Sly & Robbie, Perry Farrell, Bad Brains, Fishbone and Big Daddy Kane. Fly Tucker is a musician and producer that has worked throughout United States, Europe and beyond. He brings an irresistible old school production feel and sensibility creating fresh and dynamic recordings. Tucker is comfortable in all genres of music from funk, soul, jazz, rock, hip hop, electronica, and pop.

Biergarten.LA is a roving beer garden that “pops-up” in underutilized urban spaces. Each Biergarten.LA features different beers from a SoCal microbrewery, music from an LA DJ, and snacks from us. Inspired by the Berlin beer garden, Biergarten.LA provides all Angelinos with an outdoor space to enjoy local beer, weather, and each other.

The Good Luck Gallery, located in the heart of the Chinatown arts district, is the only gallery in Los Angeles to specialize in self-taught art. Whether it is called Outsider, Folk Art, Naive or Visionary, the emphasis is on artists who are driven by a compulsive need to create and who work beyond the margins of the traditional art world. The gallery is owned and curated by Paige Wery, who brings twenty years of experience and a passion for intuitive art to the venture. For six years she was the publisher of Artillery, Southern California’s premier art magazine. The Good Luck Gallery – which opened in 2014 – brings attention to the purity and vitality of work that speaks for itself, without formal training or need of critical interpretation. Established artists are shown, as well as the emerging and overlooked, and every form of art – from painting, drawing and sculpture to performance and installations – will be on display. In addition to regular gallery shows, an online shop features paintings, ceramics, thrift store finds, handmade arts and crafts, as well as zines and literature.

We’re going to create a gallery show of fine art prints of drawings and paintings created by kids. Children's art often gets overlooked because, like all other art, exceptional pieces can get lost in a sea of less interesting ones. Kids usually draw on inexpensive paper which can get dirty and smudged; the paints, crayons and colored pencils used are also not so great; sometimes there are several paintings or drawings on the same piece of paper, and you have to pick and choose the best ones. We’re going to curate kids' art the same way any gallery curates "grown-up" art. We'll photograph the chosen pieces, perform basic color and contrast corrections, clean them up, print them on museum quality watercolor paper and frame them professionally. On August 25 from 5 to 9 pm – during Chinatown Summer Nights – we’ll host a Drawing Room For Kids at the Gallery at 945 Chung King Road. Any child will be welcome to come in and draw as much as they want. There will be crayons, colored pencils, markers and an endless supply of paper on hand. If they choose to participate, their artwork will be considered for a gallery exhibition. The best work - curated by Mat Gleason of Coagula Gallery and Magazine and gallery owner Ed Freeman among others – will be included in a show that will open later in the year. Proceeds from sales will be divided among the artists, the gallery and Chinatown Service Center's Youth Program for the Arts.
