WRGP Radiate FM at Florida International University is the university’s student run radio station, serving all of Miami-Dade county over three different frequencies. Our tower is located in Princeton, Florida serving Homestead, South Dade, and Kendall, with two transmitters broadcasting at 95.3 at the Modesto Madique Campus, and 96.9 at the Biscayne Bay Campus, effectively serving the whole Miami metropolitan area. WRGP operates on a freeform format, offering a variety of rotation and specialty programming alongside FIU Student Media produced sports, news, and opinion shows. WRGP is also the home of Golden Panthers football, baseball, and basketball. Since our first transmission in 1988, WRGP continues to grow each year, furthering its’ outreach in the Miami community.

Since opening in 1996, the GC Student Art Gallery's goal has been to provide the opportunity for student artists to present their work in a professional setting and acquire first-hand experience in the execution of an exhibition and management of an art gallery. The Graham Center Student Art Gallery, located at the South entrance of the building, showcases artwork from students, faculty, alumni and the local community. The gallery has hosted a wide range of exhibitions, from the work of Visual Arts scholarship recipients to fundraising art auctions for local non-profit organizations and including internationally recognized artists from the Caribbean and South America. The GC Student Art Gallery is committed to continue showcasing student work as well as contemporary fine art that embodies the magnificence of diverse cultural backgrounds and disciplines. With about 450 students, the Florida International University Department of Architecture trains students in the profession of architecture to become thoughtful practitioners, critical thinkers, and broad visionaries with the skills and knowledge to enhance their communities and the built environment around them. Students arrive in the Department at various points in their educational careers—as freshmen, as third-year transfer students, as first-time graduate students, or as graduate students with the Master of Architecture degree. Students also join the Department after their professional education, to join the Master of Arts in Architecture post-professional degree program. Students in this program are often presented with opportunities to teach, research, and explore topics in and concerning architecture, in close collaboration with our full-time faculty. The Department has a world-class faculty engaged in architectural practice and research on issues of design, sustainability, history/theory/criticism, sea-level rise, digital fabrication, and a whole host of interdisciplinary areas that advance knowledge in South Florida and across the globe. The FIU School of Architecture is the architecture school at Florida International University, located in Miami, Florida in the United States. It is one of the university's 26 schools and colleges and is a school within the College of Architecture and the Arts. The school was founded in the 1980s.The FIU School of Architecture is composed of three closely aligned departments: Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design. Jointly headed by the three department chairs, the School of Architecture provides a rich and diverse platform for interdisciplinary activities at the curricular and research levels. Students in any of the SOA disciplines are taught together in a single design stream for the first two years of their curricula, and then come back together for integrated design charrettes and studios as advanced students. Under the aegis of the School of Architecture, faculty in the three design disciplines apply for grants together, collaborate on the writing of books, and undertake design research through studios and external charrettes involving graduate students.HistoryIn 1995, the school began its Master of Architecture program. In 2001, the school began construction on its new home, the Paul Cejas Architecture Building, and in 2003 the school moved from its decades-long home on the second floor of Viertes Haus to the Paul Cejas Architecture Building. Viertes Haus only provided enough space for classrooms and no studio spaces for the students. The Paul Cejas Architecture Building was inaugurated on April 11, 2003. The building is named after former FIU trustee Paul L. Cejas, who years ago, as a member of the state Board of Regents, championed the creation of the school and later made a significant philanthropic gifts to FIU totaling $2 million in support of the School of Architecture.

The Department of Criminal Justice is a major academic unit within the School of International and Public Affairs, College of Arts and Sciences. The department offers the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. Both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs are offered on-site and fully online (http://online.fiu.edu). A criminal justice major within the Ph.D. program in Public Affairs is also available to interested students, as well as joint graduate degrees in collaboration with FIU's College of Law (JD/MSCJ) and with the Department of Public Administration (MSCJ/MPA). The combined bachelors/masters degree program is also popular among undergraduate students. This program affords qualified undergraduate students the opportunity to take up to 12 credit hours of approved graduate courses, which can then be counted as dual credit for both the undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice. Internship opportunities are plentiful for undergraduate students, as we have internship placements in numerous local, state and federal agencies.

The National Hurricane Center's Hurricane Specialist Unit issues forecasts and warnings on tropical cyclones, and maintains a continuous watch on areas of disturbed weather that have the potential to develop into a tropical cyclone within the North Atlantic and eastern North Pacific Ocean basins. The NHC's Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch generates analyses and forecasts of weather over the tropical Atlantic and eastern North Pacific Ocean basins year-round. NWS will be using Facebook as a supplemental channel to disseminate environmental information and promote weather awareness activities including outreach and educational efforts.
