“Remember the Hard Rock!” While we've never been under siege like Davy Crockett and his men at the Alamo, we at the Hard Rock Cafe San Antonio always strive to be memorable here in Texas. Situated along the city's famous River Walk, the number one tourist destination in Texas, our San Antonio cafe has three floors of patios where you can relax and enjoy the great Texas weather and picturesque views of the San Antonio River with its slow-moving tourist boats. While our outdoor patio certainly offers one of the best spots to dine on the River Walk, inside our cafe is an attraction all its own. Be sure to bring a Texas-sized appetite, as we offer gourmet meals in hefty servings – so huge you can cut 'em with a Bowie knife. Our stylish San Antonio cafe is also the perfect space for a large event, as we have room for more than 400 guests. You’ll dine surrounded by a collection of music memorabilia that is big enough to fill a Spanish mission. Key items you’ll find on display include Ozzy Osbourne’s black velvet jacket, Eddie Van Halen’s Charvel guitar, and the brick wall spray painted by legendary rock band Aerosmith during our cafe’s groundbreaking ceremony in 1994. Be sure to pick up your own piece of music history at our on-site Rock Shop®.

The Esquire Tavern is more than just a bar that serves luscious libations and tasty elevated American fare; it’s a scintillating slice of San Antonio’s history. This downtown Tavern has been serving drinks to locals, drifters, celebrities and all walks of life for over 80 years. We first opened our doors in 1933 on Repeal Day, a day which celebrated the end of America’s 13-year-long alcohol prohibition. Lauded as the oldest bar in San Antonio -still holding the title of the longest bar in Texas- The Esquire Tavern is a venue of untouchable historic significance and has many remarkable tales to tell. One needs only to step foot into this cherished bar to experience the dedication to preserving its history and excellence, which is evident in every brick, bulb, plate and, of course, cocktail. Although completely renovated in 2011, The Esquire Tavern still retains its vintage décor, classic furnishings and dusky lighting that allows guests to enjoy a rustic yet romantic atmosphere. Located along the RiverWalk, guests can sit outside and take in festive surroundings and sultry San Antonio evenings. The Esquire Tavern is a uniquely uncommon place where people often arrive as strangers but leave as friends.

Pat O'Briens offers quality catering services; our executive chefs will create the ideal gourmet menu for your event. We also provide an extensive beverage selection, complete with our trademark Specialty Drinks! In the mid 1940's, Pat O'Brien's Bar propelled when the Hurricane Drink was created. At that time, there was short supply of liquor such as whiskey, bourbon and scotch. There was, however, access to rum coming up the river. Bar owners were forced to buy large quantities of rum, 50 cases or so, in order to purchase other liquor. Through trial and error, they came up with a drink that everyone loved! Pat O'Brien paired it up with a glass shaped like a Hurricane lamp and the drink was perfected! Under the management of George Oechsner Jr., Pat O'Brien's quickly became the most popular bar in New Orleans. The new concept of dueling piano players in the Piano Lounge had everyone dancing in the aisles. The Main Bar was a mainstay for neighborhood friends, and the Patio a perfect place to socialize. Even though the corporation has branched out, the main reason for its success is the fervor New Orleanians have for the place. "Even though millions of people visit Pat O's every year, locals are the reason the doors stay open" says Shelly Oechsner Waguespack, Vice President. "Locals are the heart and soul of what we are all about... Passion for fun and life!

Schilo's

(210) 223-6692

When the Germans came to Texas in the mid-1800s, their main imports were hard work, fun, music, good cooking and beer. Papa Fritz Schilo was no exception. Schilo’s saloon was started in Beeville, Texas in the early 1900’s and in 1914, he moved his family and business to San Antonio on Commerce Street. Prohibition came in 1917 and the saloon closed. That same year, Schilo’s Delicatessen opened at the corner of South Alamo and Worth Streets, with fare much the same as it is today. Mrs. Schilo spent weekends preparing food and special treat from her own recipes. In 1927 Schilo’s moved again to Commerce Street – next door to its present location. Christmas – German style was the best time of the year and Schilo’s shared it with all through their window decorations. With typical German strength, Schilo’s survived the Depression – substantial how lunches became the specialty enhanced by Mama Schilo’s Split Pea Soup. After Papa Fritz passed away in 1935, the business was taken over by his son, Edgar. In 1942, Schilo’s moved to its present location and was operated by the third generation of Schilo. Although the Schilo family is no longer connected with Schilo’s, it is still German Family - owned and operated, with the traditions and good food continuing. Between 1917 and now, a lot has changed – Times – Faces – Places, but always there is Schilo’s….where good times and good food are famous.

The restaurant founded in 1946 by Alfred F. Beyer, sits on land first granted title in 1777 by the King of Spain. The Spanish Colonial period hacienda became the core of the new business. The cedar door and window lintels, the fireplace, and thick rock walls, are still evident inside the building. Casa Rio was the first San Antonio business to open its doors to the River and take advantage of the River's setting. Canoes, gondolas, and paddle boats, evolving into tour and dinner boats, began here and helped create the Riverwalk of today.
