The Teen Pregnancy Center cares for pregnant and parenting teens, their families, and their babies in a safe and respectful environment. We use groups to support teens and their families during their pregnancy and once they become parents. Our team of health care providers, nurses, social workers, and other staff, as well as parenting teens, helps moms and dads become the best parents they can be to their babies. We have prenatal care and education groups every week, and we offer a Teen Dads support group. We also hold monthly New Moms support groups for families who have had a baby in the past year. Our teens are supported by our staff and Peer Assistants, graduates of the program who come back to group to provide support and "real" advice from a teen mom' s point of view. We talk about everything in group - how mom's body is changing, how to make healthy choices during pregnancy, setting goals for after the baby comes, figuring out how to deal with all the advice people want to give - and so much more! Moms and dads can earn "Baby Bucks" to shop for baby items, and books to begin to read to their babies.

Lambda Chi Alpha, Pi-Lambda Chapter at St. Louis College of Pharmacy

St. Louis, MO 63110

VISION To lead a co-curricular Greek movement, predicated on partnership and collaboration amongst the undergraduates, host institutions, alumni and General Fraternity, and offering an experience that focuses on the maturational development of today’s college man. As such, it is the vision of Lambda Chi Alpha to extend itself beyond the traditional social fraternity in practice and principle. OBJECTIVES Objective 1. Focus the Fraternity on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences. Objective 2. Support undergraduate and alumni members through improvement and development of programs, standards, and services that focus on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences. Objective 3. Manage and increase the resources of the Fraternity including undergraduate membership, alumni involvement, assets, revenues, communications, and technology. PURPOSE OF PI-LAMBDA ZETA The main mission and objectives of Lambda Chi Alpha at St. Louis College of Pharmacy is to “To foster a spirit of genuine brotherhood among its members…” and to “To make good men great, great men excellent, and excellent men even better…” We feel that only through service to his fellow man can one actually know what it is to give of himself and to feel humbled by helping those that have less than he does. Our biggest philanthropic event of the year is the North American Food Drive. We believe that no one should have to go to bed hungry, and no mother should have to wonder what she is going to feed her children the next day. That thought is what drives us throughout the year to make each year’s food drive more successful than the year before. While we know there are more “hungry mouths” in the St. Louis area than one chapter could ever hope to feed, it is our driving thought that by helping those that we can, and making as big of an issue as possible about our cause, we can increase awareness about hunger in St. Louis and perhaps the entire country. By doing so, we hope that one day, albeit far in the future, we, as a society, can eradicate hunger from the entire world.

Throughout time, people have preserved their culture, values and beliefs through storytelling. Giving voice to the human experience, storytelling allows families and communities to pass on their history to succeeding generations, and it remains an evolving, dynamic art form. The St. Louis Storytelling Festival, created in 1980 and now in its 36th year, renews and celebrates an ancient art. It is the largest free storytelling festival in the world. In its new partnership with the University of Missouri Extension Community Arts Program, this three-day extravaganza, held at multiple venues across the St. Louis metropolitan area, has both featured storytellers from across the nation and regional storytellers from our own community. Stories they share are suitable for all members of the family, and all are offered FREE to the public. We invite you to join us at our festival this year! You can join us at one of our outreach schools or libraries with free programs for schoolchildren (pre-registration required); take advantage of special workshops for educators, families, community members and novice storytellers; attend one of our many public events at venues and sites across the metropolitan area; or plan to come to our grand finale performance on Saturday evening. All events are FREE!
