First Step Staffing is an Atlanta-based non-profit, providing access to income for persons recovering from homelessness. For the past six years, First Step has been making community connections that match people with opportunity. We employ 100 homeless men and women per day backed by coaching, placement, transportation, service and support. For persons living with chronic disabilities, First Step also helps over 120 applicants each year navigate the Social Security disability claims process. Since its founding, First Step has been the way out of homelessness for more than 2,000 men, women and families (about 750 of them deemed “chronically homeless) in Atlanta.
