UAMS College of Medicine is a medical school that is part of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a state-run university in the U.S. state of Arkansas and part of the University of Arkansas System. The primary campus is located in Little Rock and is affiliated with UAMS Medical Center, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and Central Arkansas Veterans HealthCare System. A branch campus, UAMS Northwest is located in Fayetteville. It is the only medical school in Arkansas.HistoryThe University of Arkansas College of Medicine was founded in October, 1879 by eight Arkansas physicians, led by Dr. P. O. Hooper of Little Rock. The physicians pooled a total of $5,000 to acquire the former Sperindo Restaurant and Hotel in downtown Little Rock, the first location of the medical school at that time known as the Medical Department of Arkansas Industrial University (later renamed University of Arkansas). The medical school was housed in several locations during the early 20th century, including the Old State House, the former Arkansas State Capitol, before using funding provided by Franklin D. Roosevelt's Public Works Administration and an Arkansas tax on beer and liquor to build a new campus in 1935 next to the Little Rock City Hospital. In 1951, Arkansas Governor Sid McMath used cigarette tax funds to construct a new University Hospital on a 26-acre site on West Markham Street in what was then the outskirts of Little Rock. The College of Medicine moved to this location in 1956 when construction on the new University of Arkansas Medical Center was completed and remains there today. Since 1956 the UAMS College of Medicine and medical center have expanded from a medical school with a charity hospital to a large academic health center with numerous related health colleges and research institutes.

The College of Nursing, a CCNE accredited institution, provides baccalaureate, master’s, DNP and PhD programs to over 600 students. The College has faculty practice programs in pediatrics, primary care, women’s health, gerontology, family psych and mental health, and genetics. The faculty are national and regional leaders and their achievements include presidents of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Southern Nursing Research Society, and the Southern Regional Education Board Council of Collegiate Education in Nursing. The College has a Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence. Research focus areas include cardiovascular, sleep, gerontology, forensic nursing, and cancer.

Kappa Epsilon (ΚΕ) is a professional pharmacy fraternity founded on May 13, 1921. It was founded with the purpose of uniting female pharmacy students in an era when women were a minority in the profession. Today, KE has 43 collegiate chapters and 10 alumni chapters. Over 20,000 women and men have been initiated into ΚΕ since its founding. Kappa Epsilon's national projects are promoting awareness of breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

Junior Division - Ages 6-9 - Games Monday & Wednesday at 5:30, 6:30 or 7:30 pm Senior Division - Ages 10-13 - Games Tuesday & Thursday at 5:30, 6:30 or 7:30 pm Teen Division - Ages 13-18 - Games twice a week, Monday - Thursday at 8:30 pm There are six teams in each division. Each team in the Junior Division will have a maximum of sixteen (16) players, the Senior Division eighteen (18) players, and in the Teen Division twenty (20) players.

In 1996, the Broyles Award was established to recognize some of the most dedicated, hardest working people in America...the college football assistant coach. And, over the years, the award has done just that. Each year the five Broyles Award finalists are chosen from almost 1,500 assistant coaches representing 117 Division One college football programs. Each head coach can nominate one assistant coach from his staff. All nominations are reviewed by, and the five finalists chosen by, an enthusiastic selection committee comprised of 9 of college football's finest former head coaches. 1999 marked the beginning of a new award presented at the cermonies. The Lifetime Achievement Award has been given to former Texas A&M assistant coach Ray Dorr, San Diego State assistant coach Claude Gilbert, and LSU's Charlie McClendon for their many contributions to the game of college football. In the prestigious history of college football, there are few coaches whose efforts have forever impacted the game. Bear Bryant, Knute Rockne, Frank Leahy and Eddie Robinson have set the standard for victories and championships on the gridiron. However, when it comes to selecting, developing and producing great assistant coaches, the legacy of Frank Broyles stands alone. Full Swing Golf Academy is a inner-city youth golf organization whose mission of "diversifying the sport of golf one swing at a time" allows for golf to become more accessible to a demographic of children who would otherwise not be privy. We teach under-served and under-represented youth ages 8-17 the FUNdamentals of golf, stance, grip, etiquette, swing, posture and most importantly golf's life skills. Full Swings programming provides an inner-city community with all the tools necessary to conduct a fun intensive organized youth program. These tools include quality age appropriate equipment (golf clubs, golf bag), free instructions, a structured system to learn how to play the game on the course and, finally a format for play that includes competition but stresses fun learning!
