Lakes & Legends was born from the idea that we could create a high-quality, farm-to-table beer that would raise the expectations and expand the possibilities of what you could get from a beer. Constantine, a house of tippling, is located in the lower level of the historic Ivy Tower in the heart of downtown Minneapolis' business district. Originally built in 1930 as the Second Church of Christ Scientist, Hotel Ivy was constructed around the historic building in 2008 as a luxury hotel/condominium. The cocktail visionary for Constantine is Jesse Held. His plans include blending cutting-edge techniques and ideals with the traditions and foundation of cocktails from the past. Inspired by our chef-driven restaurant upstairs, Monello, and award-winning Executive Chef Mike 'YC' Decamp, our cocktails are treated as culinary works of art in a bar setting. Open 7 nights a week, we welcome walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis. French Meadow Bakery & Cafe has been working closely with authors Lansing Shepard and Paula Westmoreland of This Perennial Land, who inspired and named BLUESTEM. BLUESTEM is the iconic native grass species of the Midwestern tallgrass prairie, and is used in restoration areas for erosion control and more. The name describes our intention to inform BLUESTEM guests about the Blue Earth Basin and the use of perennials and other crops to restore our agricultural lands. This partnership is a continuation of our 25-year old tradition of serving organic farm-to-table foods.
