111 Minna Gallery – BIO (The art of 111 Minna) Eiming Jung founded 111 Minna Gallery and opened its doors in 1993 at 111 Minna Street in the SOMA district of San Francisco. This location would later become the heart of the up and coming art district, which has now been solidified with the construction of the SF MOMA, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and countless progressive galleries emerging in the surrounding area. With a business model focused on service and hospitality, patrons began to relish the visual aesthetics sourced from Bay Area artists, in conjunction with the laid back atmosphere that has long been associated with 111 Minna and it’s founder. For many artists, 111 Minna quickly became thee San Francisco gallery to exhibit their work and would grow to become an establishment, which would gain notoriety and an overall reputation for launching artist’s careers, both nationally and internationally, while acting as host for a vast variety of art, specifically focused on underground, low brow, edgy and often times controversial. For the past eighteen years, 111 Minna has maintained it’s reputation for constant progression and positive energy and in so doing has become a cornerstone of San Francisco culture. As its twentieth year anniversary approaches, 111 Minna Gallery will build further momentum in holding true to its roots, while displaying cutting edge art from talented emerging artists, as well as those firmly established. The gallery also maintains its history of service to a number of charities and non-profit organizations, as well as the many people who consider it and its staff to be home and family. We are proud to be San Francisco's melting pot of creativity, art, music, and good times. - Enjoy SF (everyday)

Michael Smuin’s singular philosophy to create pieces, which merge the diverse vocabularies of classical ballet and contemporary dance has served as the Company’s touchstone since its inception. Since 2008, Artistic Director Celia Fushille’s vision includes sustaining and increasing the Company’s reputation for presenting compelling and innovative repertoire, as well as attracting new audiences to the medium. Smuin Ballet continues to showcase Michael Smuin’s work, while enriching its impressive repertoire with contemporary choreographic voices, commissioning world premieres and collaborating with inventive choreographers from around the world. More than 30,000 people enjoy Smuin Ballet performances each season, performing more than 60 shows during its regular season in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Mountain View, San Mateo, and Carmel. The Yerba Buena Community Benefit District was approved by district property owners in 2008 to improve the quality of life in the area. Our mission is to provide programs that foster a safer and more secure community, create a cleaner and greener neighborhood, and reinforce the viability of our economic base. We began implementing programs in 2009. They include a Community Guides program, 10B police officer program, graffiti removal, street and sidewalk cleaning, marketing and other improvement efforts. A neighborhood defined by its diversity Our downtown San Francisco district is defined by an incredible diversity of residents, cultural offerings and businesses from about Second to Fifth and Market to Harrison Streets. It bustles with world-class museums, shopping, dining, convention space, hotels, and educational institutions. It includes a variety of housing from senior housing and below market rate housing to luxury condominiums and live/work lofts. YBCBD is perhaps the most dynamic district in the City – a celebration of San Francisco’s eclectic backbone. Working together to make Yerba Buena even better The YBCBD was created as part of a comprehensive and thoughtful effort by people who live and work in the district. The YBCBD management corporation, a nonprofit organization, was created to manage the district. We hire paid staff and sub-contractors to implement programs outlined in the YBCBD District Management Plan. YBCBD’s executive director works with a board of directors, multiple committees and contractors to advance services.

In the spring of 2013, the team took over Louie’s Bar and Grill – a Financial District favorite. A former whalers’ bar with roots dating back to 1930 Louie’s maintains its old school charm while combining enough class for a client lunch. Louie’s is a slightly more sophisticated version of its sister bar, the Tempest, though still maintains its dive bar DNA with exposed brick walls, long-standing regulars and unassuming vibe. The bar is also open until 2 AM, making it a late night favorite after much of the surrounding Financial District has closed up shop. Louie’s is also known for its menu. Former Michael Mina vet Stephen Crawford and the Pour Guys were determined to make the burger one of the very best in the city. Aptly named The Burger – topped with bacon bourbon BBQ jam, potato sticks, aioli and argula – it does not disappoint. Louie’s is the kind of bar that will become your go-to happy hour, lunch or post-work haunt.
