District is a wine bar and lounge located in the SOMA/South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. We are 1 block from ATT Park and the 4th Street Cal Train station.

The only museum of its kind in North America and conveniently located in San Francisco’s famed SoMa neighborhood, The American Bookbinders Museum explores and celebrates the craft, culture, and tools of bookbinding from its earliest forms to the innovations of the Industrial Revolution. In the age of digitization, our relationship with the book has changed. Our relationship to the book is rapidly evolving, making it the ideal time to tell the history of this object and memorialize its significance in regards to where we are today!
Docent-led tours include demonstrations of hand-bookbinding and mechanized bookbinding equipment, and covers aspects of binding, paper making, gilding and finishing of hand-bound books; women in the bindery; and the trade's place in the culture and history of America. Make an appointment to explore our archive of over 5,000 volumes and materials or join us every third Thursday for later hours, a glass of wine, and a little exploring!

A walk/jog from China Town to Coit Tower with San Francisco's premier Kung Fu school! Enjoy beautiful views of the city sky-line, San Francisco neighborhoods, Coit Tower, Alcatraz, and the Bay Bridge. There will be stops along the way for pictures, breathing, meditation and Tai Chi! All backgrounds and experience are welcome. The ascent leads up STEEP San Francisco hills, participants should be aware and experienced enough to walk up very steep hills or stairs. The descent will lead through a lush 'rain-forest' like setting behind the tower and back through the Financial Dirtrict for fruit and water at the school!
