Our founders established a reputation of delivering hot food and cold drink at a great price. Our atmosphere is like our food, no frills. Want lettuce on your sandwich? Better go to some fast-food shop because we actually want you to taste the meat we carve in front of your eyes. Want a fork to eat those lamb shanks with? Better get up and go get one by the cashier. Want green beans instead of mashed potatoes? Well, you better speak up because we move fast, so we can serve the people fast. As the people work harder, time gets shorter, the Joynt provides a spot where you can hop in grab some brisket and hop out. Want to stay longer? Take your time; enjoy our large beer selection, our excellent bar, and a healthy platter of sliced, braised, or stewed meats. Our lean buffalo meat covering rice is served for under nine dollars because we spend our money on beef, not table servers who exist to screw up your delicious meal. We invite you to try our popular brisket, turkey, buffalo stew, pastrami and corned beef. Visit Tommy's Joynt for the best tasting meat in San Francisco!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - In the heart of East London ...deep beneath the streets ... amongst the crumbling ruins of a long abandoned Underground railway station ...something unusual is afoot. The fragrant smell of juniper mingles with exotic botanicals sourced from across the vast British Empire. The hiss of steam punctures the damp subterranean air, and the fires of distillation yield forth the wondrous elixir that has captivated the entire realm: Gin! Welcome to Whitechapel. A wildly-themed bar & restaurant located in the heart of San Francisco at 600 Polk St. A celebration of the wonder of gin featuring the largest selection in North America served in a carefully chosen cocktail menu that celebrates the history and traditions of this amazing spirit. Far from gin's reputation as painfully serious, our menu showcases its versatility and lively approachability with a selection of drinks that are bound to please. Whitechapel is the vision of bartender Alex Smith (Novela, Gitane, Gather, Honor Bar, SF Chronicle Bar Star 2011) and Smuggler's Cove owner Martin Cate (World's 50 Best Bars 2011-15 [Drinks International 50 Greatest Bars on Earth [The Times of London], Best Bars in America 2013 [Esquire Magazine], and Best Cocktails in San Francisco 2014 [SF Weekly Readers' Poll]). Along with John Park, Managing Partner of Novela, Whitechapel aims to become not just a destination for gin lovers, but for everyone looking to experience remarkable cocktails and food expertly prepared in an incredible setting. In the kitchen, Chef David Murphy directs the menu of sharable and lighthearted British and Dutch-inspired fare. Don't miss signature dishes like the Steam Burgers, King's Porrige, and mighty Haunch & Flagon In the bar, Whitechapel's extensively researched menu brings you both a historical survey of gin classics alongside regional specialties. But the past is just the beginning. Smith has crafted an inventive array of modern cocktails made with contemporary small batch gins from near and far. Whitechapel's gin collection is the most comprehensive and well curated in North America, and includes little known treasures, exceptionally rare historic bottlings, and our own private label gin made right here in San Francisco by Distillery 209. Guests will enjoy learning alongside drinking as part of our gin club, The Polk Street Irregulars, with the opportunity to earn titles, rewards, and exclusive experiences.

SoundBox will be back in December 2016! What is SoundBox? In the small entry room, you move past a curtain, through an unknown door. There’s a teasing view—some kind of installation fills a sunken space. It's like you scored a backstage pass. Time to explore. Turn the corner, find the bar. There's craft cocktails and small bites. Video projections flash on the walls. All eyes go to the stage, ready for the show to start. And then the music. Live music—it’s just so good. Pounding beats, otherworldly chants come from all corners of the space. Close your eyes: it sounds like you're in a cathedral, and then an underground club. Unique and stimulating and totally different. A new place for people who love music.

I am an artist living in San Francisco since 1980. I love doing art. It gives me great satisfaction and I am overjoyed when I complete a piece. But I am wistful, too. I cannot wait to be inspired again and get to work on a new piece. I think life is strange. I have had many experiences, good and bad, in my life. The wide variety of styles in my art reflect my different perspectives on the events in my life. Still, I am working on another series using ink and acryIic. I am very excited about this and cannot wait to see how it turns out! So, I will keep doing art for as long as it makes me happy. Be sure to click on the "Shop" icon to be redirected to my official website, http://jess-art.com. I want to thank Yaffa Talcott for all of her help, inspiration, and support.
Justin Giarla has worked for a decade to maintain White Walls as the premiere destination of urban and contemporary art in the Bay Area. Combined with sister space, the Shooting Gallery and two project spaces, our state of the art 5,000 square foot space is one of the largest galleries on the west coast. The aesthetic and conceptual quality of work shown at White Walls has earned us a vital role in the contemporary art market- one we embrace wholeheartedly. We are proud to continue showcasing the most progressive artists working today. In February of 2013 we moved to the historic 886 Geary building and we're now happy to offer the space as an events venue to the community. As a venue, our building presents the sleek, white-walled aesthetic of a contemporary art gallery with modern, architectural elegance. With capabilities to house more than 300 guests for standing receptions, or 100 sit-downs, the options are vast. The ceiling is replete with skylights, which pour in natural light for day events, as well as suspended lighting tracks that provide versatile illumination for evenings. Our 14-foot high ceilings are furnished with exposed original timber beams that refer to the building's heritage as a former bakery in the historic Tenderloin.
Nonspecific is an art gallery founded in San Francisco, and focused on exhibiting up and coming artists. Due to the real estate market of San Francisco, we have no official "Space", but we intend to utilize the city and its pre existing structures and establishments to present work.
Market Street Gallery exhibits work of established and emerging artists of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to give artists with a clear creative voice a stage to showcase their work. For those who visit our gallery, we curate the exhibition to maximize the cerebral experience between the viewer and the art with an objective to connect people to new creative ideas. We actively seek out artists to identify those who are ready to share their creative energies and thoughtful artwork to the public here in San Francisco. From paintings… to photography… to multi-media installations, our exhibiting artists employ everything across the medium spectrum; the common thread among the artists is strong, relevant & unique content.
