If a face does not have a mistake, it's boring." - Kevyn Aucoin- Kevyn started making a name for himself in the beauty business not long after graduating from cosmetology school by becoming a national color educator for one of the top international color manufactures. This led him to become one of the top educators in the Midwest for one of the uppermost European color companies by teaching color classes in salons and performing in front of his peers at various seminars. After almost two decades in the beauty industry, Kevyn decided to focus more attention on his first passion .. makeup. Mainly self taught in makeup, Kevyn’s talent has been refined and guided by some recognizable names in the makeup biz: Lisa Kalz, Jeff Lewis (special effects) and Debra Dietrich. Kevyn has put his makeup and hair artistry to use on various independent and major motion picture projects, most recently “Gone Girl.” His makeup skill has also been featured in TV. commercials, ad campaigns for national retailers, fashion and beauty publications as well as heading up the makeup team for a variety of fashion shows. Still, working behind the chair is one of Kevyn’s greatest inspirations. Each one of Kevyn’s clients is special to him thereby creating a personalized makeup and hair look customized to suit their individual needs, desires, and most importantly schedule.
