Columbus Commons is a six-acre green space located in downtown Columbus featuring world-class gardens, grand lawns, the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion and walking paths. The Bosque in the southern end of the park includes restrooms, an outdoor reading room, a hand-carved carousel, bistro tables and chairs and two park cafes: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and Tortilla Street Food. Managed by Capitol South and the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, Columbus Commons serves as a thriving gathering place and hosts nearly 250 community events during the April-October season, including concerts, races, festivals, Family Fundays, movies, Food Truck Food Court, outdoor fitness classes and more.

Goodale Park is a public park in the Victorian Village area of Columbus, Ohio. It was donated to the city in 1851 by Lincoln Goodale. For a few months during the Civil War, it was a staging area for Union troops known as Camp Jackson. ComFest, a large, free, non-corporate, music and arts annual festival, is held in the park in June.Located immediately north of downtown Columbus, the park is bordered by Goodale Street on the South, Park Street on the East, Buttles Avenue on the North, and Dennison Avenue on the West.Camp Jackson During Civil WarFrom April to June 1861, the park was used as a staging area for new recruits for the Union Army. The camp started in April when Governor William Dennison, at the urging of President Lincoln, called on Ohio communities to revive their militias and send them to Columbus.A high picket fence is erected around the camp, and the curious public mills around all day. Few visitors are allowed in. There are reports that the troops eat very well while in the camp.The Governor’s Guards, a corps of soldiers stationed at the camp, marched through Columbus on a Saturday morning to urge the local people to show their patriotism and enlist in the cause. A Captain Morrow was so successful that his company grew so large with new recruits that he had to start a second company of troops and that one was nearly full. "Any young man interested in enlisting in this company, “B” of the 3rd Regiment, is told to call at Camp Jackson at an early hour."

Express Live Pavilion is an indoor-outdoor concert venue in Columbus, Ohio. It is part of the downtown Columbus entertainment area known as the Arena District, which also includes Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park and the Arena Grand Theatre. PromoWest Productions, owner of the Newport Music Hall, owns and operates the pavilion. The Express Live Pavilion features state-of-the-art lighting, acoustical systems and an innovative, one-of-a-kind reversible stage. Structurally, it's divided into three independent concert spaces: indoor music hall, outdoor amphitheater and the plaza. The venues unique design flexibility helped win a nomination for "Best New Major Concert Venue" in 2001 by Pollstar Magazine, the concert industry's leading publication.The inside capacity is 2,200, while the outside can hold up to 5,200, with both lawn and pavilion sections and entertains over 275,000 people each year. Naming rights were owned by Lifestyle Communities, a local condo and apartment company, but it was announced in 2015 that Lifestyle Communities would not be renewing the naming rights.
