Created by the Colorado Legislature on July 1, 1967, CBI was established to support and assist local, county, and state criminal justice agencies through the provision of professional investigative and forensic laboratory services, as well as the management and administration of criminal justice records and data sharing.
Remembering the Lakewood Fire Protection District (commonly referred to as the "Lakewood Fire Department"), in Lakewood, Colorado. The fire department was founded in October 5th, 1937 and transitioned to Lakewood/Bancroft Fire Authority in 1991 and later became the West Metro Fire Protection District on January 1st, 1995.
The EPIC Project began as an exciting $2.1M multi-criminal justice agency capacity building Justice Assistance Grant awarded to five state agencies in October of 2009. Under the umbrella of the Executive Director’s Office of the Colorado Department of Public Safety and the Colorado Criminal and Juvenile Justice Commission, this two-year initiative seeks to reduce recidivism among adult offenders and enhance public safety through the use of evidence-based practices and the developing field of implementation science. This unprecedented and historic multi-agency collaboration brings together: Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS) as grant administrator and Division of Criminal Justice, Office of Community Corrections Colorado Department of Corrections Division of Adult Parole, Community Corrections and the Youthful Offender System (Parole) Colorado Department of Corrections Institutions Judicial Department Division of Probation Services Department of Human ServicesDivision of Behavioral Health (DBH) EPIC was voted into legislation on April 26, 2013 and is now a permanent State office under the Division of Criminal Justice.
The Jefferson Conservation District is a local unit of state government, one of 76 conservation districts in Colorado, that works to provide a local voice on natural resource issues, and works collaboratively with private landowners, residential communities, and local, state and federal government entities to protect the natural resources of Jefferson, Gilpin, and Clear Creek Counties of Colorado’s Front Range.
