The Lively Stone Prayer Band was formed in 1934, under the leadership of Bishop Phillip Lee Scott. At this time the Lively Stone Prayer Band served as a refuge to the members of the Overcoming Church of God—which was formerly pastored by Bishop Thomas Gibson. They were then located at 2139 Eugenia. Elder Scott was moved for the benefit of all concerned, to change the name of the association known as the Overcoming Church of God, the the Lively Stone Church of God (Apostolic Faith), to be known and to operate as such throughout the world. By this time, the church had moved to 409 South 22nd Street. The church moved to 2145 Adams (Spruce) where the Lord blessed in a mighty way. In 1941, they changed locations again to 2621 Lawton, and it was here that the Lord blessed in an even greater measure. After twelve years, the congregation became so large the building was again inadequate. In March 1954, the church relocated to 1208 North Sarah. After only five years, the seating capacity again was too small and the church was blessed to purchase the building at 3965 St. Louis Avenue, now known as the Lively Stone Church Educational Building and Lively Stone Christian Day Care Center. After 15 years, the need for another expansion became apparent and Bishop Scott began to seek the Lord for direction. Plans were in the making to build a new church, when the Lord revealed to him that the church was to remain on the corner of St. Louis Avenue and Warne (now Bishop P.L. Scott Ave.). The Lord confirmed His Word by enabling Bishop Scott to negotiate a contract to purchase our present place of worship, 4015 St. Louis Avenue. After moving into our new location, remodeling and renovation was the order of the day. Many enhancements were made including the installation of central air, remodeling the Fellowship Hall and Vestibule, enlarging the balcony, building the choir stands, and significant landscaping to beautify the exterior of the church and educational building. In 1978, the Lord revealed to Bishop Scott through a dream plans to build a crosswalk, which could connect the main sanctuary at 4015 St. Louis Avenue to the educational building at 3965 St. Louis Avenue. This one of a kind crosswalk, costing more than one-half million dollars, was dedicated unto God in a two night dedicatory service, November 14 and 15, 1983. This great edifice will remain a monument symbolizing his faithful leadership. While the church membership continued to grow, its responsibilities increased as well. As a result, the Tape Ministry was started to enhance the outreach ministry of our radio broadcast. In addition, the Food Pantry was established to aid the poor and disadvantaged. In 1987, after over fifty years of faithful and untiring service, our Founder was called from labor to reward. Nevertheless, God had a plan for this great church. Having been ordained by God to succeed our late founder, on April, 1987, Dr. Alphonso Scott was installed as Pastor of the Lively Stone Church of God, St. Louis, Missouri. The church has benefited greatly through his excellent pastoral abilities. Renovations have been made to further enhance the look and comfort of both the main edifice and educational building. Other accomplishments include: Rehoboth Ministerial Institute, Lively Stone Christian Book Store, Voice in the Wilderness Telecast, Lively Stone Christian Day Care Center, Administration Offices, and GIA (God Is Able) Housing. Yes, those who are a part of the Lively Stone family today can look around and see that we truly are a blessed church. Yet, it has been the blood, sweat, tears and prayers of countless others, under the leadership of the late Bishop P.L. Scott, who helped bring us from very humble beginnings to where we are today.

The Daughters of Charity are a worldwide Society of Apostolic Life called to serve Jesus Christ in the person of the poor and the marginalized. Motivated by the love of Christ and strengthened by a deep prayer life, we live and pray in community, supporting each other in our common mission of service. Like women in other communities, we make vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. What distinguishes us, however, is a fourth vow of service of the poor. Another distinction is that Daughters of Charity do not make perpetual vows, but renew them every year on the Feast of the Annunciation, which permits us to choose again our commitment to our God and to the poor.
A pastoral and educational work to preserve the identity and heritage of Jews within the Church, helping them to serve the Lord, His Church, and all people within the mystery of their irrevocable calling.

We thank you for visiting our page and hope you consider becoming a Young Friend of the Cathedral. As little as $5 does the trick, and truly every cent is used to maintain our beautiful Cathedral. While many assume its preservation is under the care of the Archdiocese, these treasured works of art are actually not a part of the parish’s budget. It is up to the Friends of the Cathedral Board as well as the Young Friends to ensure their protection. The hours of work and amount of money needed to maintain this building and its art is overwhelming. We rely on the generosity of those around us, as the parish’s first duty is to take care of the people it houses. People from all walks of life are invited to join our group. While we sponsor Catholic activities and events, we would love everyone living in or visiting our city to come down and witness the monumental beauty sitting in the heart of the Central West End. It can be cherished by Catholics and non-Catholics alike as it is open to and welcomes all visitors daily. Thank you again for your interest, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!

We invite women who are exploring God's call to get to know more about us through this online community. The Social Ministry Program grew from parishioners asking "what could they do?" to meet the needs of those living in and around our community. From this question, parishioners began to formulate responses on how they individually and as a parish meet the needs of those living in and around our community. Over the years, the responses varied such as proving casseroles to St. Patrick's Center, sandwiches for Karen House, Peace Vigils on Sunday evenings, and participating in Just Faith. In 1993, the Social Ministry Program started providing assistance to homeless, ex-offenders, low-income and those in transition with securing Missouri State Identification cards and Birth Certificates. Almost 10 years later, the College Church Social Ministry Program is still one of the few to provide this assistance. In 2006, Social Ministry again asked itself, "what can we do to meet the needs of our community." In response to this, Social Ministry broaden its outreach to build community partnerships and continue to fulfill its mission. Social Ministry formed a collaboration with Midtown Catholic Charities to offer P.E.O.P.L.E. 1st, Winter Outreach Group to open an emergency winter shelter, Xavier Winter Inn, and a Sister Parish with La Natividad in Santa Maria Chiquimula, Guatemala. The Living Justice Speaker Series, Fair Trade, Advocacy Committee, and Hot Stuff/Cool Stuff developed as parishioners participated in JustFaith and identified ways for our parish to live out our call to service and justice. The history of Social Ministry at the College Church continues to grow each year through the commitment of our parishioners, volunteers, and community partners. It is this commitment that allows us to continue asking the questions and searching for the answers on how, we, as an individual, church, and community, respond to "the Ignatian call to build a community where God's presence radiates in our, work, our relationships, and personal presence."
My name is Danny Lybarger, and I am the BarChurch Site Pastor! I am excited that you have checked out our website and I hope you will join us for service on a Sunday night! As a part of The Gathering’s vision to create a Christian community that is compelling to new generations, we have decided to locate ourselves where new generations are hanging out. We are located just outside the Saint Louis University campus at Humphrey’s Bar and Tavern. We find throughout scripture that Jesus was far less concerned with his surroundings, but rather he cared about the heart of those he was surrounded by. At BarChurch we feel the same way – where we meet in is not what makes us a church, but rather the hearts of those who worship with us every single Sunday. For more information, or to connect with anyone on the BarChurch team, please click the link below. We look forward to connecting and worshipping with you at Humphrey’s on Sunday nights at 7:30pm!
Love God. Love People. STL EPIC is a new church in St. Louis. We are excited to finally be in our new space at 3684 Forest Park Avenue.
We are the Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic order of priests and brothers founded half a millennium ago by the courtier-turned-mystic Ignatius Loyola. With close to 18,000 priests and brothers worldwide, we are the largest male religious order in the Catholic Church. We are pastors, teachers, and chaplains. We are also doctors, lawyers, and astronomers, among many other roles in Church and society. We refer to ourselves as the Jesuits of the USA Central and Southern Province, one group within the Society of Jesus in the United States and one part of the worldwide body of Jesuits. Jesuits draw on the rich tradition of Ignatian spirituality and reflection. In our retreat houses, parishes, campus ministries, and other settings, we offer these resources to all who want to discern God’s presence in their lives. At the same time, we also aim to be “contemplatives in action,” people who bring this spirituality into the wide world. That includes our work on behalf of global justice, peace, and dialogue. In our varied ministries, we care for the whole person: body, mind, and soul. And especially in our education ministries, we seek to nurture "men and women for others."
