LA nightlife pioneers Sunset Entertainment Group (SEG), who brought you The Sunset Room, White Lotus, Cabana Club and Green Door have once again revolutionized the LA nightlife scene with Lure, the ultimate nightclub experience. In collaboration with Boulevard Nightlife Group (Roxbury, Supperclub, Hemingway's Lounge, The Chinese Theatres, The Writers Room and Two Bunch Palms Resort), Lure will present the world’s top DJs and entertainment, right in the heart of Hollywood. Boasting a 50,000 watt Line Array sound system with lighting designed by the renowned Steve Lieberman, and high-definition LED Walls, Lure is the new premium nightlife venue in Los Angeles. Lure also features a state of the art Kryo system, 110 kinetic light spheres that are choreographed with the music, plush lounge seating, and four full service bars. Lure is designed by critically acclaimed architect and designer, Gulla Jonsdottir, a 2009 recipient of Hospitality Design’s “Wave of the Future” award. Jonsdottir is the creative and visionary force behind some of the most striking hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and spas in the world. Upon entering Lure, guests are ushered through a sweeping diamond faceted façade to reach an abstract garden with 12 oversized cabanas, water features and flower sculptures. The interior space is defined by a white cocoon styled VIP area that overlooks the stage and a loft area with original wood truss ceiling exposed. To create softness in the space there are oversized suede panels next to motion sensitive LED screens. The backdrop to the faceted main bar is a 14’ fire sculpture. On the other side of the fire sculpture is The Patio, a secret back garden with suspended plants and 6’ topiary chandeliers. Intricate metal, lace-like accents, dark mahogany floors, and mosaic style LED bars complete Lure’s appeal. The last standard Class A Neve the company ever built. Come in and look around at the unique and original design of Grandmaster Recorders, Ltd, a studio that has put its sonic stamp on some of your favorite albums. Grandmaster Recorders was designed by the legendary Don Davis, a man known for his groundbreaking approach to acoustic design. His trademarks are all over the studio, in every room. From his use of black walnut in the Wood Room to provide punch and clarity, to his unique bass reflex/diffuser design in the Drum Room to enable an incredibly well balanced room sound for drums and other instruments. In addition to these unique rooms, Grandmaster Recorders also features a large warehouse space (112’ x 50’ x 20’) complete with stage for tracking as well. Not only has this space been responsible for some well known sounds, but it also serves as the studio’s private parking. Grandmaster Recorders also features a private lobby and lounge for the client. This enables the artist to work uninterrupted, yet be in one of the fastest growing, bustling communities in the heart of Hollywood. Just outside the studio doors is some of the best and up and coming restaurants and bars, movie theatres, and record stores.
TIF SIGFRIDS is happy to announce the opening of her new gallery on October 12th with an exhibition by Joe Sola entitled Portraits: An Exhibition in Tif Sigfrids' Ear. For this inaugural show, Joe Sola has created a series of six portraits ranging from 4/64 x 5/64 inches to 11/128 x 5/64 inches in size. The paintings, all oil on styrene, are hung in an exhibition space that will be situated in the gallerist's ear during gallery hours for the length of the exhibition. Sola's diverse practice includes video work, painting, and performance. In his video work Sola has jumped out of windows (Studio Visit, 2005), been run over by a team of high school football players from Ohio (Saint Henry Composition, 2001), and rode roller coasters with male porn stars (Riding with adult video performers, 2002). In performances he has had male fashion models make art (Male Fashion Models Make Conceptual Art, 2005-9) and talked about his drawings with female escorts, (Talking About My Drawings with Female Escorts, 2010) This will be his first exhibition comprised entirely of oil paintings. Joe Sola was born in Chicago in 1966 and received his MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California. His work will be included in the upcoming exhibition: Damage Control: Art and Destruction since 1950 at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C. The exhibition is curated by Russell Ferguson and will travel to the Musee'd'Art Modern Grand-Duc Jean Luxembourg and Kunsthaus Graz, Austria in 2014. His work has been included in public exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Wexner Center for the Arts, The Orange County Museum of Art, the Andy Warhol Museum, and most recently at 365 S. Mission Street. He is represented by Blackston in New York.
