Since 1969, IAR in NYC has taught audio recording, audio engineering, and post production. Our grads pursue careers in music recording, production, live sound, radio/TV/film, and more. Our teachers are active in the world music scene, keeping our program relevant and stimulating. IAR fosters individual growth within a committed, supportive community. Trained specialists are with you in each class, grads can return for complimentary re-training, and placement extends beyond graduation. Our balanced program focuses on practice and theory, using Pro Tools, MIDI training, recording in our studio, advanced mixing, and much more. The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts offers an Associate’s degree in Film and TV Performance, as well as an optional third year focused on acting for the stage. Our programs are dedicated to providing professional acting training that is practical, relevant, and rigorous. Every year we travel, see and audition thousands of aspiring actors only to allow a select few into our conservatory. Those students get the opportunity to experience the most demanding, comprehensive and rewarding acting training for today's aspiring actor. Acting is not a prerequisite for admission.
