Martin Williams is a brand activism agency based in sunny Minneapolis. Our purpose is single-minded. It is to invite and inspire participation between brands and people. In simple ways. In deep ways. Sometimes organically. Sometimes spontaneously. And sometimes in the most carefully orchestrated ways imaginable. We call it Brand Activism. And when people act on a brand’s behalf, good things happen. When they passionately pledge their allegiance to something, anything is possible.

The Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company Building, also known as the Northern Implement Company and the American Trio Building, is a warehouse building in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. PPG Industries of Pittsburgh constructed the structure. It was designed by locally notable firm Kees and Colburn and shows strong influences of noted architect Louis Sullivan. The arches in the top floor windows are modeled after Louis Sullivan's designs, which in turn were influenced by Henry Hobson Richardson's Richardsonian Romanesque style. The corners of the building are subtly chamfered in at the bottom and rise toward a flaring cornice at the top, echoing John Wellborn Root's design of the Monadnock Building in Chicago. The building has now been converted to loft apartments.

ServeMinnesota is the state's designated recipient of funding for the AmeriCorps program, often referred to as "the domestic Peace Corps". We administer a portfolio of 12 AmeriCorps programs with more than 1,200 AmeriCorps members addressing a variety of critical human needs spanning educational achievement, economic opportunity and environmental protection. More than 650 sites across the state are hosting an AmeriCorps member this year. These sites include schools, local nonprofits and community organizations. ServeMinnesota's primary strategic goal is to invest its AmeriCorps resources in a manner that achieves the greatest impact on solving critical issues for the state — thereby serving as a catalyst for positive social change in Minnesota. We align the power of AmeriCorps with successful approaches that provide cost-effective solutions and yield measurable results. By applying evidence-based practices, bringing scale to what works and demonstrating positive outcomes, we have a formula for increased impact. Our education initiatives combine the power of AmeriCorps with proven learning methods to help thousands of children achieve grade level proficiency in reading and math — two critical indicators for future success. Without AmeriCorps resources, thousands of children would not receive the critical interventions they need to succeed in school and life.

We also run the C4J Legal Liaison Program, which works to increase knowledge about resources and needs in the nonprofit legal and social service communities. Our outreach efforts include speaking to community groups, presenting on legal resources in Greater MN, a regular newsletter, and use of social media.
