The Scottish Rite Cathedral, at 3627 Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri, is a historic, significant building that was designed by architect William B. Ittner. It was completed in 1924. "A fine example of neo Classic style, the building has a frontage of 235 feet and is approached by a broad flight of steps. Its auditorium, which seats 3000 persons, is notable because no posts obstruct the view. Features are an extremely wide proscenium and a fine organ. The granite and limestone structure was erected at a cost of $2,000,000."

The world’s oldest and largest women’s organization, YWCA was founded in England in 1855. The organization that became YWCA Metro St. Louis began in 1904 as an effort to provide housing and job training for rural women who had come to the city to work at the World’s Fair. In 1905, the organization was incorporated with YWCA. For decades, it has been an autonomous, accredited affiliate of YWCA USA, broadening its focus to meet the changing needs of women. YWCA Metro St. Louis is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and developing youth by providing services to women, children, youth and families in the St. Louis area. For over 100 years, YWCA has been the backbone of women’s support services within our community, which helps our clients find paths to self-sufficiency through our programs that mentor, educate and propel women to their fullest potential. YWCA Metro St. Louis is proud to offer assistance from the following programs: Head Start & Early Head Start for children ages 0-5 and their families; Women's Resource Center and the Sexual Assault Response Team, which serves sexual assault and abuse survivors ages 14 and older by offering crisis intervention support for victims, individual and group counseling, and a 24-hour rape crisis hotline (314-531-RAPE); Phyllis Wheatley Transitional Housing Program for single, homeless adult women ages 18 and older; Racial Justice programs and seminars from anyone ages 10 and older; Women's Economic Stability Partnership for single mothers ages 18 and older; and YW-Teens for young women ages 12-18. Employment Connection was founded in 1977 after a study by the Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis (BAMSL) discovered that employed ex-offenders were 66% less likely to return to incarceration. Our agency immediately began work to reduce recidivism. In 1980, Employment Connection became a full United Way member agency and expanded its programs beyond ex-offenders to serve U.S. veterans, homeless individuals and families, individuals with behavioral health disorders, and at-risk youth. Today Employment Connection assists over 1,500 individuals who have barriers to self-sufficiency every year.

The St. Louis Order of the Scottish Knights of Saint Andrew is patterned after the Order of the KSA in Gutherie, Oklahoma. There are more than 25 states with over 50 Chapters or Orders of Knights currently active in the United States of America. Our Chapter was founded in 2004 and our Charter Members began work immediately for the good of the Valley. Our purpose is two-fold: first and foremost, to serve the Valley by assisting with whatever is necessary, so far as we are able. Secondly and just as importantly, we train the 32° Mason in the structure and philosophy of the St. Louis Scottish Rite Bodies. We encourage all new 32° Masons of the Valley to join the ranks as soon as possible so that we can provide opportunities for them to become involved. It is our desire to help new members obtain positions in Degree Teams, Stage Crew, Membership Development and many other opportunities. And yes, a lot of us help in the kitchen preparing food during the reunions. But it will not all be work. We also plan on monthly meetings and a few family-style social gatherings because we know that the Scottish Rite Mason wants to involve his family as well as himself. This has the added benefit of helping us to become a unit instead of just a bunch of guys. Membership in our order is open to all 32° Masons who are members in good standing of the St. Louis Valley. When a member receives the honor of the Knight Commander Couort of Honor, he must surrender his active membership in the KSA and any subsequent office. He then becomes a Knight Emeritus. Our KSA meetings normally are on the last Friday of each month.

Gateway Men's Chorus has been performing for the St. Louis Metropolitan area since 1988. Starting with 22 singers at our inaugural performance, the Chorus has grown to approximately 80 singing members. Gateway Men's Chorus has become one of the most successful male choral arts organizations both in musical repertoire and longevity. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a 12 member Board of Directors. The Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis accepted the Chorus as a member in 1994. Since our inception, the Chorus has benefited financially from the Missouri Arts Council, the Regional Arts Commission, the Arts and Education Council, the William A. Kerr Foundation and the Gateway Foundation as well as corporate funding from American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation and General American Insurance. GMC has stayed true to our mission of producing beautiful male choral music and of presenting a positive image of gay men to the entire St. Louis community. GMC has also produced four CDs over the years for our patrons to enjoy: Monuments (1998) A Saint Louis Holiday (2003) Love Changes Everything (2010) I Want to Fly (2011) The Chorus is celebrating its 29th anniversary in the 2015-2016 season. With our amazing singing membership, staff, and board members we build capacity, hone our vision, educate, and celebrate diversity.

The St. Louis African Arts Festival began in 1991 as an artistic and cultural arm of the African Studies Association’s 34th Annual Conference hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. A variety of festival programs and activities were held throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area. Due to the overwhelming response from the broader community to the first St. Louis African Arts Festival, event organizers began to plan for the next festival held the following year. The African Heritage Association of St. Louis, Inc. was established in 1995 and serves as the parent organization of the St. Louis African Arts Festival. It is a 501(C) 3, non-profit organization

The Arts and Education Council builds appreciation, participation and support for arts and arts education through the St. Louis community.

This fall, American artists of many genres will participate in the fourth annual American Arts Experience - St. Louis (AAE STL) festival, a 17-day event showcasing national and local talent across a variety of mediums. Celebrating the creative work and inspiration of American artists, the theme of this year’s festival is “Art Made Fresh Daily.” A stellar lineup of performances is scheduled every day from October 3 through October 19 in venues across St. Louis. AAE STL is pleased to welcome literature to its category of events with this year’s new literary event in University City, “Lit in the Lou,” a three-day program featuring writing workshops, author appearances and readings, as well as book signings. Emerson, the diversified global manufacturing and technology company headquartered in St. Louis, is the official sponsor of the American Arts Experience - St. Louis. The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission provides tourism support.
