Most people can accomplish these first two stages within a relatively short time and are able to use their new pronunciations, when they are consciously trying to do so. The final stage is the transfer stage which involves habituating one’s newly acquired pronunciations into everyday conversation. This is the most critical stage and requires breaking down one’s native language speaking habits of English by extending one’s practice into natural and real speaking situations.
We swim at the Cyrus Green Recreation Center on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays mornings from 8-9:30 a.m., and usually have a seasonal summer practice from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. You must be USMS registered to swim with us, but you can be registered with any team, not just TBAM.
