501(c)3 not-for-profit organization promoting the visual arts in the St. Louis region through programs such as art exhibits, classes and workshops, and artist residencies.
Three Rivers Aikido Dojo started in 1992 when Sensei Elliot Freeman was asked to move from Chicago to St. Louis to teach an Aikido that had a traditional yet realistic approach. In 1993 Sensei Freeman was invited to Master Instructor Steven Seagal's ranch to participate in a week-long seminar in the mountains of Montana. Sensei Seagal gave the St. Louis group his blessings to open up the mid-west Tenshin dojo headquarters. We are now one of the three Tenshin dojos that are mentioned at the StevenSeagal.com website. Shihan Steven Seagal is our link to being members of the World Aikido Federation under the Founding Family of Aikido. Aikido training is taught in a non-competitive and cooperative manner emphasizing defense: not getting grabbed, not getting struck and not getting taken down to the ground. This is what makes Aikido unlike the kicking, punching, and blocking of Karate or wrestling aspects of Judo. Arm and leg immobilizations, pressure points, and deflections are emphasized in our training, making Aikido available to anyone interested in training in the Martial Arts.
Our goal is to spread the news about all events hosted by the many diverse organizations available on campus (i.e., SGA, RHA, Environmental Club, Campus Ministry, RA's, BSO, FISH, etc.). If you've ever asked yourself what events are available throughout the week (and weekend), this page is for you! Or, if your organization or club has an upcoming event, let us know so we can spread the wealth!

In keeping with Bring Me A Book St. Louis's mission to strengthen the language and literacy skills of underserved children, BMAB-St. Louis seeks to improve the region by assisting in the movement towards better educational outcomes for all children in a collaborative manner. BMAB-St. Louis is but one part of a great network of early childhood advocacy agencies that understand that St. Louis is only as strong as its neighborhoods, and that strong neighborhoods begin in through education, particularly in the home. Bring Me A Book St. Louis's integrated programs enable access to quality children's literature for all children, while at the same time providing support and encouragement to parents, caregivers, and educators for language and literacy development throughout the Greater St. Louis area.
