Main Street Garden Park is a 1.75acre public park located in downtown Dallas, Texas, United States The $17.4 million park was primarily funded through the City of Dallas’ 2003 and 2006 bond programs and is the first of several planned downtown core parks, including Pacific Plaza Park and Belo Garden Park. Main Street Garden replaced Pegasus Plaza as the site for major downtown events throughout the year.HistoryThe downtown block, which previously consisted of early commercial structures and parking facilities, was cleared in 2007. Plaza of the Americas is a major commercial complex in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It is adjacent to DART's Pearl Station and connected to the Dallas Pedestrian Network. The design featured dark gray glass cladding for twin office towers contrasted with poured in place concrete for the hotel and garage. Construction on the 5.5acre site began in 1978 and finished in 1980.In 1983 an additional office building, the 26-story Univision Center (formerly Plaza of the Americas III and Allianz Financial Centre), was constructed across Crockett Street and connected to the complex. An additional parking garage was added in 1984. Through an agreement with the City the developers received tax-exempt bond financing in exchange for a promise to develop 100 units of housing above the garage within 5 years. A fourth 26-story building, Plaza of the Americas IV, was also planned across Crockett Street. In 1989 plans changed to increase the building to 42-stories, but the structure was never built.

The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre is a theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It is one of four venues that comprise the AT&T Performing Arts Center and was dedicated October 12, 2009. The 80,300-square-footbuilding is twelve stories and holds about 600 people, depending upon the stage configuration. It is the new venue for the Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico.The Wyly Theatre was designed by REX | OMA, Joshua Prince-Ramus (partner in charge) and Pritzker Prize winning architect Rem Koolhaas. It features a groundbreaking design with an unprecedented "stacked" vertically organized facility that completely rethinks the traditional form of theatre. It is named for Dee and Charles Wyly, who donated $20 million to the Center.The vertical rods lining the outside of the building on all four sides are intended to be symbolic of the folds of a theater curtain. The rods comprising the facade are extruded anodized aluminum.

The Sheraton Dallas Hotel, formerly the Adam's Mark Hotel and originally the Southland Center, is a complex of international style skyscrapers located in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas. The hotel is the tallest and largest hotel in Dallas and Texas with 1,840 guest rooms and 260000sqft of meeting space. It has been host to pop culture conventions such as Project A-Kon and Twicon.HistoryThe complex was originally designed by Welton Becket & Associates from Los Angeles for the Southland Life Insurance Company. When groundbreaking for the buildings took place in 1955 it was compared to Manhattan's Rockefeller Center, as Southland Center was the first mixed-use project in downtown containing both hotel and office space.Southland Center was the second major development in the northeast end of downtown now known as the City Center District. The original two buildings, completed in 1958, consisted of the 42-story (550 ft) center tower, the Southland Life Building, and the 28 story (353 ft) south tower, the 510-room Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Celebrities Johnny Weismuller and June Lockhart appeared at the dedication ceremony in 1959. In early 1981, the 31 story (448 ft) north Skyway Tower was added as additional office space. In a unique collaboration with Shakespeare Dallas, the complete works of William Shakespeare will be presented over a 5-year span in the intimate Hamon Hall inside the Winspear Opera House.
