The Zebra Coalition was established in response to the growing number of LGBT+ youth who are experiencing homelessness, bullying, extreme physical and sexual abuse, isolation from their families and a wide range of life challenges or setbacks. The Zebra Coalition is a very unique organization comprised of service groups, government agencies, social service providers, middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities. Each of these organizations is able to provide essential services in various ways for LGBT+ youth at risk or in need of a safe haven. This includes temporary or emergency shelter, counseling services, emotional or spiritual guidance, substance abuse treatment and basic necessities of food, clothing and medical services, as well as other important resources. The Zebra Coalition became operational in 2011. Within the first few months of in-taking LGBT+ youth, the program has dealt with significant issues encountered by this group of young people - relating to homelessness, physical and sexual abuse, bullying, substance abuse, and parental abandonment. The Zebra Coalition meets an otherwise unmet need in most communities, targeting a heretofore “under the radar” group of young people. There is no question about the ability to make a difference in the lives of LGBT+ youth, but only with organized resources and activism fostered by the Zebra Coalition. The Zebra Coalition is the only organization in Central Florida that can provide a full continuum of services to LGBT+ youth.

This collection was initially on the second floor of the Old Armory Building on Court Street, and was subsequently moved to the Knox building at the intersection of Pine and Court Street. On May 11, 1920, Orlando citizens showed by a vote of 417 to 19 that they wanted a public library and were willing to pay for it.Captain Charles L. Albertson, a retired Police Inspector of New York City and a winter resident of Orlando, had for many years been collecting books at his home in Waverly, New York. In November 1920, Captain Albertson offered his collection to the City of Orlando, on the condition that it furnish a suitable building to house it. The contract between the city of Orlando and Captain Albertson provided that Orlando would accept the gift of the Albertson collection and furnish the library building; that the library should be known as the Albertson Public Library; that Captain Albertson should be Advisory Superintendent of the Library throughout his lifetime; and that Orlando should suitably maintain the Library.

It is currently practiced in over 125 countries worldwide, by doctors, nurses, teachers, therapists, healers and people of various backgrounds and beliefs. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. This invisible vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this subtle energy as Chi. Pranic Healing® requires no drugs, gadgets, not even physical contact with the subject. It is a simple yet powerful & effective system of no-touch energy healing based on the fundamental principles that the body is a self-repairing living entity that possesses the ability to heal itself. The reason Pranic Healing® works on the energy body is that physical ailments first appear as energetic disruptions in the aura before manifesting as problems in the physical body. This pervasive energy that surrounds, interpenetrates and sustains the physical body, also affects our emotions, our ability to handle stress, relationships and even finances. Master Choa Kok Sui developed Pranic Healing® as a comprehensive System of energy medicine to improve the quality of our every day lives. The courses offered are designed to give a person a well-rounded education in Energy Healing and other Esoteric Sciences. These courses are offered across the United States and throughout the World.
