Who was the first critical voice to historically champion the Los Angeles art scene as the equal of New York and often superior to it? That would be Mat Gleason in the pages of Coagula Art Journal in the early 1990s. Coagula Curatorial is the commercial gallery component of the Coagula empire, delivering on that same promise.

Modern Multiples is a leader in the next generation fine art printmaking and publishing who specialize in serigraphs and digital giclees. We collaborate with a wide array of contemporary artists and designers to create unique and highly collectible works of art. Our master printers employ their highly skilled and technical knowledge towards educating and enabling artists to immerse themselves into the printmaking process. We offer artists an opportunity to work one-on-one with our master printers and digital experts to create unique, signed and numbered, archival, limited editions. At Modern Multiples, we are dedicated to the realization of the collective vision between the artist, publisher and printer. Each production is unique in its progression through the different levels of involvement and participation of the artist and publisher. We accommodate all levels of desired involvement by the artists – from color separations, stencil-making and color mixing to actual production and curation. From simple one color monoprints to 125-color Yamagata prints, our master printers and project managers work with the artist to ensure a final product that will fulfill the artist’s vision. We employ stencil-making techniques, photo-mechanical reproduction, 4-color process work and specialize in hand painted multiples, which incorporate fine airbrush techniques and painterly brush work, making each print an original. Most importantly, we nurture and shepherd artists under our care to produce the highest quality work they can dream possible. The ultimate beauty of the printmaking tradition is shown in its democratic nature. A fine-art print has the ability to reach a greater population of appreciators that may not be able afford original works, such as paintings. By providing our service to the art community, we continue the great tradition of making accessible works of art for the public. Modern Multiples inhabits two buildings that total 6,000 square feet. The main building, is where Modern Multiples’ productions and operations for contract serigraph and digital print work are located. The facilities include: a fully functional project space that houses two large format serigraph presses, several state of the art Epson printers, an etching press, a showroom and event space, bedrooms for visiting artists, garden and courtyard spaces, and a vault of inventory ready to show. Modern Multiples’ facilities are more than a simple print studio; it is a gathering place for artists, collectors and industry professionals. We invite artists for talks and residencies from all over the world, provide tours to college students, and teach printmaking classes. We host events such as supper clubs, poetry readings, comedy shows, and promotions events for service industry professionals. We look forward to printing with you.

This is what we WERE: "So, you been preserving a culture, an artform, a collection of songs, a portfolio, or a poem? Come get unscrewed at the Pickle Factory. This is an art gallery and a literary salon, an improv theater and a place where records are constantly spinning. It is maintained with love and presented with great care, for special events only. Check our page regularly for what's happening now and what's still in the works. Parking is on the street. It's usually free, but respect the neighbors. The building is nondescript. You almost might say 'hey, is this a thing?' But like virginity, the good stuff is kept wrapped up tight until, pow, you open it, and all the purity comes out. That's exactly what the Pickle Factory is. That is EXACTLY what the Pickle Factory is! Help us spill the purity."
