For months, I was unable to drive or fly. I tried various treatments including a physical therapist and multiple providers of acupuncture, massage and chiropractic treatment. While these provided some relief, none compared to the results from working with the personal trainer – Nikki Becker. Her training sessions of stretching and weight lifting made the difference. My work with Nikki Becker paid big dividends. I lost weight, gained muscle and my back pain disappeared. This conditioning allowed me be remain very active. After working with Nikki, in 12 months, I completed 12 marathons*, went dog sledding in Alaska at -40 degrees, rode ATV's on Rubicon trail and hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Nikki’s training sessions consist of a mixture of weight training and stretching. Many of the stretching exercises can only be done with the assistance of a personal trainer. Her professional training and experience allow one to achieve maximum benefit without risking injury from over-stretching. Nikki Becker is a conscientious, competent, personal trainer one can depend on and at half the cost of a physical therapist. * Sacramento, CA Death Valley, NV Los Angeles, CA White Sands, NW Yakima, WA Big Sur, CA Corvalis, OR (31 miles) Gold River, BC (40 Miles) Ashland, OR (31 Miles) San Francisco, CA Youbou, BC (35 Miles) Portland, OR” September 2, 2010 Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, High Integrity Steve Reins -------------------------------------------------------------- “I've had the privilege of knowing and working with Nikki as my personal trainer for many years - since before she started Miss Fit Adventures. She has become more than just a trainer; she is a friend. She has always been supportive of my endeavors and helped me believe I could achieve any fitness goal. Under her guidance, I trained for and completed the Portland Marathon, hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (and out again!), competed in the Hood-to-Coast Relay, and have hiked and climbed many mountains - both physically, in the outdoors, and personally. She has a gentle but assertive personality that pushes you just enough in your training so that you can achieve your goals, but not so much that you get frustrated and run away. Nikki has experience working with a variety of individuals and groups with varying levels of fitness, with and without physical challenges, and is well-prepared to work with clients by meeting them where they are at and developing a plan that will help get them where they want to be. I cannot say enough good things about Nikki. I would most highly recommend her for your personal training needs.” September 2, 2010 Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, Creative Liz Opeila -------------------------------------------------------------- “I have worked with Nikki Becker for more than a decade as my personal trainer. Relevant data is that I have worked with her since my mid 60s into my late 70s. Naturally my physical capacities and needs have changed over time. During those years, I have had minor injuries and a not insignificant illness. Nikki is superb at listening and observing, then adjusting my workout both to keep up my strength and flexibility while being aware of limitations that age gradually imposes. I recommend her with enthusiasm and with gratitude for her ability to keep me going!” September 2, 2010 Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, Creative Irene Hecht, -------------------------------------------------------------- “Nikki is the best Dragon Boat Coach! I was on the team in 2007 and have wanted to go back ever since then! She makes the team work hard, but the fitness plan is effective and easy to fit in with my busy schedule. Nikki is very encouraging and motivating.” September 2, 2010 Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, High Integrity Michelle Roeker -------------------------------------------------------------- “Nikki is a professional in all aspects of her work. I can honestly say the meeting Nikki enhanced & influenced my life in a very positive way.” September 2, 2010 Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, Expert Pat Duty, -------------------------------------------------------------- “I hired Nkki to work with me daily as therapy following a severe stroke i am walking okay in part due 2 Nikki''s skilI. Mill Ends Park is a tiny urban park located in the median strip of SW Naito Parkway, approaching esplanade along the Willamette River near SW Taylor Street in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. The park is a small circle 2ft across, with a total area of 452sqin. It is the smallest park in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, which first granted it this recognition in 1971.HistoryIn 1948 the site that would become Mill Ends Park was intended to be the site for a light pole. When the pole failed to appear and weeds sprouted in the opening, Dick Fagan, a columnist for the Oregon Journal, planted flowers in the hole and named it after his column in the paper, "Mill Ends" (a reference to leftover irregular pieces of wood at lumber mills). Fagan's office in the Journal building overlooked the median in the middle of the busy thoroughfare that ran in front of the building (then known as SW Front Avenue). The park was dedicated on St. Patrick's Day, 1948, as "the only leprechaun colony west of Ireland," according to Fagan.LegendFagan told the story of the park's origin: He looked out the window and spotted a leprechaun digging in the hole. He ran down and grabbed the leprechaun, which meant that he had earned a wish. Fagan said he wished for a park of his own; but since he had not specified the size of the park in his wish, the leprechaun gave him the hole. Over the next two decades, Fagan often featured the park and its head leprechaun in his whimsical column. Fagan claimed to be the only person who could see the head leprechaun, Patrick O'Toole.
