In its 40th year, the 2016 Union Street Festival is continuing the exciting additions to this long standing San Francisco event. For the 2016 Festival, the event will again feature Fashion, Technology, Local Exhibits, Crafts and Health & Fitness. The Union Street Fashion Show has become one of the highlights of the Festival. It features clothing, jewelry and fashions from Union Street area merchants. It is not to be missed! In addition, the Festival will host Craft Beer and Wine Tasting Pavilions. Check back for ticket details. The Festival will also include the traditional elements that have made this event stand out over the years, including Arts and Craft Exhibitors, unique Sponsors, Festive Food Vendors and Community Groups. Please come check out the Juried Art Section at the festival and see who you think should be awarded the cash prizes! The Festival is held on San Francisco’s fashionable Union Street where historic Victorians have been transformed into popular boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. The 6th Annual Union Street Has A Crush On You Valentine Wine Walk Thursday, February 9, 2017 Union Street from Gough to Steiner and on Fillmore Street from Union to Lombard San Francisco, CA 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM RAIN OR SHINE! The Union Street Association and Steven Restivo Event Services, Inc. are hosting the 7th Annual Union Street Has a Crush on You Valentine Wine Walk on Thursday, February 11th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The tasting event will include merchants offering wine samples and special treats inside their stores throughout Union Street from Gough to Steiner and on Fillmore Street from Union to Lombard. Attendees wishing to participate in the sampling program may purchase on-site tickets for $30 or advance tickets for $25 via the website. The on-site tickets sales location is 2040 Union Street (across from the Metro Theater). Please note: The last sale of tickets is 7:30 PM, pouring ends at 7:45 PM, per the ABC permit. Participants will receive a wine glass and map with all of the tasting locations. Ticket sales on the day of the event will be “Cash Only.” Please check back for updates on all participating businesses. 26th Annual Union Street Fantasy of Lights Holiday Event on Saturday, December 3, 2016 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM And a month long celebration of holiday happenings Union Street between Van Ness & Steiner, Fillmore Street from Union to Lombard San Francisco, CA RAIN OR SHINE! In November, Union Street kicks off its highly anticipated Holiday Celebration, bringing a wealth of holiday-related entertainment to Cow Hollow, one of San Francisco’s most beautiful historic neighborhoods. Throughout the Season Throughout November and December, the stores lining Union Street will add festive holiday lights to their buildings and trees, and meters will be transformed into giant candy canes, setting the stage for a magical season. The month-long celebration on Union Street also includes validated parking, store open houses complete with refreshments and evening shopping, and holiday lights. Merchants will stay open until 9:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays in November and December. Fantasy of Lights Event On December 3, Union Street kicks off its annual Fantasy of Lights Holiday celebration, where young and old alike can enjoy festivities to begin the holiday season. Thousands of holiday lights set off the Victorians, transforming Union Street into a magical backdrop for Santa and a team of elves to celebrate along with jugglers, live ponies dressed as reindeer, face painters, balloon artists, costumed characters, singers and live entertainment. See Union Street, holiday style, and hop on the FREE Union Street Holiday Horse Drawn Carriage Ride from 3-5:30 PM, fun for the whole family! Come decorate a holiday ornament from 3:00-5:30 PM in front of the Cudworth Mansion, 2040 Union Street! Santa will arrive at the Cudworth Mansion, 2040 Union Street, at 5:30 PM where he will be available for pictures until 7:00 PM. Donate toys for needy children through the SF Firefighters Toy Program. Collection barrels will be available on Union Street at the event and throughout the holiday season. This is truly a holiday tradition that should not be missed. The Great Union Street Holiday Elf Hunt! For one week, from December 3rd through the 11th, participating merchants will be hiding a toy elf in their stores for people to find. Blue Bear School of Music is a non-profit organization founded in San Francisco, California in 1971. Blue Bear has trained over 20,000 students in voice, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, bass, drums, horns, songwriting, bands and ensembles. The School currently has more than 1,700 members annually enrolled in small group classes and private or semi-private lessons. Blue Bear's current Board of Trustees include co-founder and Board President Steve Savage, and well known singer/songwriter/keyboard player Bonnie Hayes. The current board chair is Dominic Haigh. Day-to-day operations of Blue Bear are under the direction of Interim Executive Director Steve Savage. Carol Snow, Chief Financial Officer and Dennis Criteser, Program Director, are both former Blue Bear students who have been associated with the school for more than 35 and 25 years respectively.
