The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a nonprofit, educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets and a guided missile submarine. Through exhibitions, educational programming and the foremost collection of technologically groundbreaking aircraft and vessels, visitors of all ages and abilities are taken on an interactive journey through history to learn about American innovation and bravery. The Intrepid Museum was founded in 1982 with the acquisition of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, now a National Historic Landmark, which served tours of duty in World War II and the Vietnam War, and was a recovery vessel for the Gemini and Mercury space missions. Welcoming over one million visitors annually, the Museum includes the Space Shuttle Pavilion, home to Enterprise, the world’s first space shuttle that paved the way for America’s successful Space Shuttle Program. On display are more than two dozen authentically restored aircraft, including the Lockheed A-12 Blackbird, the world’s fastest military jet and spy plane, and the British Airways Concorde, the fastest commercial aircraft to ever cross the Atlantic Ocean. The Museum also includes the submarine Growler, the only American diesel-powered strategic missile submarine open to the public; the Exploreum Interactive Hall, a fully interactive exhibit space; an 18,000 sq. ft. education center; and Pier 86, a publicly accessible pier that is part of the Hudson River Park Trust. The mission of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is to promote the awareness and understanding of history, science and service through its collections, exhibitions and programming in order to honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth. USS Intrepid , also known as The Fighting "I", is one of 24 s built during World War II for the United States Navy. She is the fourth US Navy ship to bear the name. Commissioned in August 1943, Intrepid participated in several campaigns in the Pacific Theater of Operations, most notably the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Decommissioned shortly after the end of the war, she was modernized and recommissioned in the early 1950s as an attack carrier, and then eventually became an antisubmarine carrier . In her second career, she served mainly in the Atlantic, but also participated in the Vietnam War. Her notable achievements include being the recovery ship for a Mercury and a Gemini space mission. Because of her prominent role in battle, she was nicknamed "the Fighting I", while her frequent bad luck and time spent in dry dock for repairs—she was torpedoed once and hit by four separate Japanese kamikaze aircraft—earned her the nicknames "Decrepit" and "the Dry I". Decommissioned in 1974, in 1982 Intrepid became the foundation of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City.Construction and commissioningIntrepid was launched on 26 April 1943 by Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., Newport News, Virginia, the fifth to be launched. She was sponsored by the wife of Vice Admiral John H. Hoover. On 16 August 1943, she was commissioned with Captain Thomas L. Sprague in command before heading to the Caribbean for shakedown and training. Intrepids motto upon setting sail was "In Mare In Caelo", which means "On the sea, in the sky", "In the sea in Heaven", or "On the sea and in the air".

Jadite Galleries, established in 1985 contributes to the ever-changing contemporary art scene in New York. Established in 2008 by Paul Booth, Last Rites has become a premiere gallery for contemporary surrealism and a haven for artists who are not afraid of exploring and dissecting every aspect of the human condition to investigate the invisible, the unintelligible and the inexplicable with a focus on the most recondite twists and turns of reality. The gallery strives to display a showcase of thought-provoking art imbued with references to the dreamlike landscapes and ambiguous feelings originated from an intimate, philosophical contemplation of the self. Last Rites invites the observer to reflect inward and abandon himself to a conscious perception of what the innermost recesses of the mind can reveal and produce under the urge to see beyond our apparent limits. The gallery program is mainly focused on figurative paintings and sculptures featured by an unconventional interpretation of the human existence that seems to escape any definition of what is real, unreal or unknown. Our exhibition schedule rotates monthly, so there is always something new and obscure on display. Founded in 2010, Cristin Tierney Gallery is a contemporary art gallery committed to the development and support of both established and emerging artists. In 2008, after fifteen years in Paris, the established French furniture dealer Renaud Vuaillat opened his New york flagship gallery, "21st twenty first", in Chelsea, the very heart of the creative, artistic district. He has focused his discerning eye on representing only the most intriguing and important pieces to be found; thus, "21st twenty first" is the showroom for both emerging talents and renowned designers alike. The gallery offers a unique rhythm and diversity previously unknown in New York by hosting not just group shows of young-cutting edge designers but also solo exhibitions of noted creators, with fantastical themed events inspired by such whimsical notions as Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast".

With an emphasis on programming that supports direct engagement through exhibitions, performances, and dialogue, Stadium addresses contemporary issues salient to the media conditions of today’s exhibition space.

Jeff Bailey Gallery opened in 2003 in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and moved to Hudson, New York in 2014. The gallery exhibits the work of emerging and mid-career artists in a variety of media.

Liz received a B.A. in Art History from Indiana University (’88) and then moved to New York City in 1989 to work at Schmidt-Bingham Gallery on 57th Street and attend Hunter College to pursue her Master’s in Art History. After completing her graduate coursework, she was appointed Co-Director of the gallery where she remained for 10 years. Garvey started her own fine art advisory firm, EKG Art Advisory, in 1999. She has assisted collectors from all parts of the country to establish and build art collections, and has helped many individuals purchase their first piece of fine art. Her approach is user-friendly and down-to-earth, offering clients a relaxed entry to the often intimidating visage of the New York art world. She has professional relationships with countless galleries, auction houses, private dealers and artists nationwide. After ten years as an art advisor, Liz longed to work more closely with artists again and to expand her business to include curating special exhibitions. The formation of Garvey Simon Art Access, Inc. with her sister Catherine in California, and the collaboration with Jacquie Littlejohn of Littlejohn Contemporary Art at Suite 207, adds this new dimension to the business. In 2013, she was elected to ArtTable, a national non-profit membership organization for professional women in leadership positions in the visual arts. Our space in Chelsea not only offers a quiet and relaxed environment to learn about art, but also a better way to serve existing clients who wish to sell works privately on the Secondary Market. The private viewing room can be used at any time by appointment to view works consigned from other dealers as well as the GSAA and LCA inventories. It offers a way for clients to see a wide variety of material in one spot instead of committing an entire afternoon to gallery hopping. Private, customized tours to see galleries throughout the city are also always available for clients who enjoy that experience. Consultations are always complimentary.
