"Seek the well-being of the city to which I have sent you. Pray for it to the Lord. For in seeking its well-being, you shall find your own." --Jeremiah 29:7 A place of worship. A place of refuge. A place of peace. More than just a beautiful building, The Basilica of Saint Mary is a gathering place of rich diversity. It's a center for the arts and a place of refuge for people in need. It's a community committed to the growth and well-being of the city. Together, we celebrate weddings, baptisms and funerals, Christmas and Easter, and weekend Eucharist. With over 6,700 families, we have an aggressive vision for social outreach. Our St. Vincent de Paul society offers new shoes or workboots, and has since 1986. We partner with Meals on Wheels, offer employment support, help struggling families stabilize their lives through Pathways. Our John XXIII Art Gallery features local, national and international artists work, and music is available to all through our Spirit and Soul celebration of Black History Month, the Minnesota Sinfonia, The Singers, The Rose Ensemble and others who offer free and low-cost concerts. For more information, visit our website at www.mary.org. Adults in their 20s and 30s may also find information on the Basilica Young Adults Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/byoungadults.

Mindfulness meditation is a practice of learning to observe your thoughts and experiences rather than react to them. Research suggests that it helps reduce pain, improve the immune system and reduce anxiety and mood symptoms. It is also a great doorway into deeper spiritual experiences. These meditations will be guided so all you have to do is show up, sit, listen and do what you're guided to do. You can leave 30 minutes later, relaxed, rejuvenated and deepened! There is no cost- so you have nothing to lose!
