SF Dance Space was founded in 2006 in the attic of an old church on Sanchez Street. In 2009, NVDS and its first students relocated to our new home on Noe and Alvarado. Since then, we have mentored over 175 students and expanded our schedule to offer over 20 classes per week . Our program offers classes weekday mornings, afternoons and Saturdays as well as dance camps throughout the summer. Our success as a dance program is due to three philosophies. First, that creative dance can be done by all children, it is creative teachers that can help one to reach their full potential. Second, balance is as important in dance technique as it is in class structure. Our classes maintain a positive energy which nurture hard work and acknowledge individual success, and fun. And lastly, no child should ever feel compelled to say, “I don’t like Ballet.” A dance program should be able to bring out the magic of dance. The right one makes you want to experience it forever.
