Downtown Dance & Movement is DTLA's newest premiere dance & fitness center, offering four large dance studios with sprung floors. The Colburn School serves the Los Angeles community with the finest performing arts instruction through the Colburn School of Performing Arts. As an open-enrollment school, the School of Performing Arts does not require academic degrees to enroll in its courses, which cover a broad range of styles, age levels and degrees of difficulty. Music classes at the School of Performing Arts include applied musical instruction, music theory, chamber ensemble and large ensemble opportunities. The Colburn School of Performing Arts has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 1980. The School of Performing Arts is also a member of the National Guild For Community Arts Education.

Known in the industry for her sass and warmth, Texas-native Kelsey Guard is so excited to be in Los Angeles after working in the Australian music industry for the past two years. In addition to her valuable knowledge of vocal technique, performance skills, and industry expectations, Kelsey brings love, passion, and humor to her teaching studio. No dream is too big or too small for this teacher. She approaches each student with her personal brand of blunt honesty, genuine encouragement, and fun that has proved incredibly successful for students of all ages, backgrounds, and goals. At 3 Kelsey took her first dance class and hasn’t stopped since. After extensive training in ballet, jazz and tap, she began her vocal training at the age of 12, studying privately and performing in musicals, show choir and performance tours. Kelsey holds her high school diploma in Vocal Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University, the alma mater of the great Kristin Chenoweth and Kelly O’Hara. While in the US, Kelsey performed professionally and for regional theatres in Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina and Oklahoma. Her favourite roles include Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof and Babette in Beauty and the Beast. Since moving to Australia in January 2012, Kelsey has been working non-stop. She produced, wrote and performed her one-woman show Champagne at Tiffany’s for Downstairs at the Maj, started a ground-breaking pop/opera girl band, and wrote and recorded a pop EP with up and coming Brisbane producer, Travers in addition to teaching private voice and musical theatre full time with Newman College, Lumen Christi College, and the Australian Performing Arts Network. Kelsey has been teaching dance and voice for almost ten years. With training and experience in classical, pop, music theatre and jazz, she understands the diversity of the entertainment industry and creates specialized tracks for each student based on their own personal goals. Whether in a group or individual setting, Kelsey’s students are encouraged to explore their own creativity and create art out of passion in addition to building a strong technical foundation.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall at 111 South Grand Avenue in Downtown of Los Angeles, California, is the fourth hall of the Los Angeles Music Center and was designed by Frank Gehry. It opened on October 24, 2003. Bounded by Hope Street, Grand Avenue, and 1st and 2nd Streets, it seats 2,265 people and serves, among other purposes, as the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. The hall is in a vineyard seating configuration, similar to the Berliner Philharmonie by Hans Scharoun. Lillian Disney made an initial gift of $50 million in 1987 to build a performance venue as a gift to the people of Los Angeles and a tribute to Walt Disney's devotion to the arts and to the city. The Frank Gehry-designed building opened on October 24, 2003. Both Gehry's architecture and the acoustics of the concert hall, designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, have been praised, in contrast to its predecessor, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

REDCAT is an interdisciplinary contemporary arts center for innovative visual, performing and media arts in downtown Los Angeles, located inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex. The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles is a contemporary art museum with three locations in greater Los Angeles, California. The main branch is located on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, near Walt Disney Concert Hall. MOCA's original space, initially intended as a "temporary" exhibit space while the main facility was built, is now known as the Geffen Contemporary, in the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles. The Pacific Design Center facility is in West Hollywood.The museum's exhibits consist primarily of American and European contemporary art created after 1940. Since the museum's inception, MOCA's programming has been defined by its multi-disciplinary approach to contemporary art.FoundingIn a 1979 political fund raising event at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, Councilman Joel Wachs, and local philanthropist Marcia Simon Weisman happened to be seated at the same table. That same year, Weisman and five other key local collectors signed an agreement whereby they would pledge chunks of their private collections, worth up to $6 million, "to create a museum of standing and repute."
