The College of Arts and Sciences is Boston University's largest undergraduate school, offering Bachelor of Arts degrees in 23 different departments and 20 interdisciplinary programs. The programs are divided into four broad categories encompassing over 2,500 courses, including natural science, social science, humanities, and math & computer science. About half of the students at Boston University are enrolled through the College of Arts and Sciences, while almost all students take a few courses through the school during their academic career.Boston University's CAS stresses a breadth of knowledge in addition to the deeper studies within a student's major. Because of this, students are required to complete general requirements which can be fulfilled in two ways. Students can choose to fulfill the general requirements through divisional studies or the Core Curriculum. The divisional studies track requires students to take two courses in each of the three divisions of which their major is not a part. Additionally, students must also complete a one year sequence in Boston University's writing program. The Core Curriculum consists of a series of eight courses that cover the general requirements as well as the University writing requirements. Finally, all students must display a proficiency in a foreign language .Boston University's CAS provides advising resources to undergraduates in pre-professional tracks, including Pre-Med and Pre-Law.

WE, THE MEN OF PHI DELTA THETA... ...share a strong commitment to personal growth. Fostering an environment of betterment and support, brothers strengthen one another intellectually and morally so that after four years, our members enter the real world as better men. While some brothers live 30 minutes away in the suburbs of Newton, our members hail from countries all over the world, from Chile to Japan to Peru to Tanzania. We revel in our similarities and celebrate our differences. We see each other as individuals while recognizing we are all part of something greater than ourselves. Our differences drive our culture and our unity shapes us into leaders with a strong fraternity presence on campus. Hanging out in Boston on a Friday night, engaging in random midnight philosophical conversations, we learn about one another, our culture, values, perspectives, and consequently more about ourselves. Each member looks out for one another so that at any time, they are available. From the diverse brotherhood then inevitably emerges a family, each member offering his own distinct contribution to the House. A fraternity built on the ideals of Friendship, Sound Learning, and Moral Rectitude (our 3 Cardinal Principles) and sustained through time by a reverence to its history and respect for the brotherhood, we at Phi Delts call upon our members to seek challenges, cultivate interests, and go far in life.

The Center for the Study of Europe at Boston University was established in the fall of 2011 to succeed the Institute for Human Sciences (IHS). Its mission is to promote understanding of Europe through its cultural heritage; its political, economic, and religious histories; its art, literature, music, and philosophy; as well as through its recent emergence as a new kind of international form through the European Union. The IHS was established at Boston University in November 2001 as a joint iniative of the University and the Vienna-based Institut fur die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (IWM), an independent, interdisciplinary center for advanced study in the humanities and social sciences, and Boston University. The undertaking was propelled by political circumstances: changes in relations between New and Old worlds wrought by the collapse of the bi-polar world order at the 20th century and the imminent enlargement of the European Union at the beginning of the 21st. The mission of the IHS was to initiate policy-oriented projects of an American-European scope and help to achieve their implementation, as well as to serve as the American base for joint projects with the IWM.
