The philosophical architecture of Bill Lowe Gallery is built upon a reverence for the alchemical nature of artistic expression. Our vision honors the profoundly spiritual nature of visual language and the role it can play in affecting paradigm shifts at both a personal and societal level. It is with this recognition that we have assembled a world-class stable of artists who intuitively have their fingers on the pulse of the Universe. Their expression is not an ironic or satirical look at the human condition. Instead, the gallery’s program presents powerful, content-driven works that utilize technical mastery and a visual eloquence to transform the human heart and soul at intimate levels. For our collectors, the gallery is an oasis of beauty. Of civility. Of contemplation. This is coupled with a dynamism informed by a world view rooted in metaphysics, spirituality, philosophy, psychology and biology. Bill Lowe Gallery is a transformative experience that forever enlightens those who experience it. The gallery facilitates interaction between a broad cross-section of our community with an exotic array of artistic voices and languages to amplify and expand an unfolding cultural conversation. Bill Lowe Gallery has become an institution in our region. We are widely considered the pre-eminent contemporary art gallery in the Southern United States. Our long presence in Los Angeles has fueled a kinetic dialogue between the East and West coasts. We approach the next decade of our mandate with clarity, commitment and excitement.

EAST COAST PO A big hello, from the team here at East Coast Po. We are the only PO SHUN LEONG approved company in the world producing pieces in Mr. Leong's world renowned "Art Box" medium. We make pieces in all different forms. From desks and chairs to fountains and clocks. If you can imagine it we can create it and professionally ship it to your door. PO SHUN LEONG When the sirens of war pierced the London skies in 1944 a Chinese immigrant made a wise decision in sending his three year old son to live in the safety of Northampton 70 miles outside the city. Far away from the German bombings, it was here that the young boy was cared for until the wars end by a quiet country carpenter with a fascination for constructing model ocean liners in exquisite detail. That boy was Po Shun Leong. The craftsman's family noted that throughout his stay young Po would marvel at the model ships on display in the house for hours on end. He was memorized by their every deck, pipe and hidden passage. His time here may have contributed to his future creation of the medium which came to be known as the “art box”. Upon moving to America Mr. Leong began to make small versions of the art box in his California garage in the early 1980’s. The art form consists of structuring multi textured woods and materials into breathtaking compositions. The pieces focus on containment and are therefore composed within a box. Little did he know that he would soon procure the attention of an extremely elite clientele including various celebrities and even the President himself. Mr Leong’s captivating pieces are highly sought after by collectors, even more so now that he has moved onto a different medium. Currently his art box pieces may only be found in private collections or various museums around the world. PO SHUN LEONG'S PUBLIC COLLECTIONS The White House Collection of American Crafts Smithsonian and Getty Museums Hospital Infantil, Mexico City MCI Art Collection, Washington, D.C. Federal Reserve Bank, San Francisco PO SHUN LEONG'S CLIENT LIST Scott Turow Jim Carrey John Cleese Steven Spielberg Steve Martin The late Robin Williams and John Candy Bill Clinton Julian Fisher Whoopi Goldberg Chuck Jones Jane & Arthur Mason Prince Faisal Henry Luce III (son of the founder of Time and Fortune magazine) Otis Chandler (former editor of Los Angeles Times) and many more… AN ARTFORM RESURRECTED We first learned of the art box medium while designing a desk for a clients home in California. In the house there was a desk that sat alone in a room without a chair or accessory in the immediate vicinity. At this time he did not know what a rare privilege it was to see one of these pieces outside of a museum. Upon inquiry the client disclosed the name of the artist as, no other than, Po Shun Leong. Ever since that fortuitous day Mr. Hodson has studied the uniquely intricate art and design of Mr. Leong’s captivating art boxes. So now, after ten years of diligent adherence to this practice he has achieved a level of skill that has received the blessings of Mr. Leong himself. In the fall of 2013, Mr. Hodson was given the explicit and most humble permission of the master, Po Shun Leong, to inscribe his pieces: “inspired by PO SHUN LEONG”. We have truly received a blessing and would like to open our arms to share this blessing with you.
