Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) is a non-profit weekly hip hop arts program that seeks to develop youth leadership and technical skills, creative expression and self-confidence through the artistic elements of hip hop which include breakdancing, urban art, deejaying, emceeing/spoken word and music recording. Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) was founded in 2001 in the Rampart District of Los Angeles. We are a non-profit hip hop collective that meets every Saturday from 12-4pm at the MacArthur Park Rec. Center. (2230 W. 6th St., Los Angeles, CA 90057) We teach visual arts workshops, paint large-scale and legal graffiti murals in the community, record and produce music, emcee, bboy/bgirl on a large hardwood floor to live DJs. We create unique opportunities for underserved young artists to showcase their work, network with peers and professionals and engage with their communities in a positive manner through the arts. The program is free for all age groups.
CCNP is the Westlake/Pico-Union's FamilySource Center (FSC). We assist families in becoming financially stable by providing family-centered services that are focused on helping families increase their income, economic resources and academic achievement. Adult FSC Services: - Multi-benefit Screenings - Information & Referrals - Case Management - Pre-employment & Employment Support - Child Care - Parenting Classes - Financial Literacy - Adult Education (ESL/GED Classes) - Computer Literacy - Supportive Services Youth FSC Services: - Tutoring - Youth Leadership - Mentoring - Cash for College/College Access Activities - Recreational Activities - Cultural Activities Healthy Lifestyle Program Services - Youth Martial Arts - Fitness Center COST: - FamilySource Center services are FREE of charge! - Fitness Center is $12 a month plus an annual registration fee of $15 - Youth Martial Arts (ages 5-12) is $5 a month, plus an annual registration fee of $15. WHO QUALIFIES: - City of Los Angeles residents - Must meet low-income requirements. DOCUMENTS NEEDED: - Proof of address (Valid CA ID/DL, Utility Bill or Post-marked mail) - Proof of income (Paycheck, Benefit check/statement, Unemployment check/statement, a letter from you employer indicating your pay rate and frequency of work) - Youth's most recent Report Card (k-12) *** Documentation must be dated within the last 90 days of enrollment
