Middle Tennessee State University, commonly abbreviated as MTSU or MT, is a comprehensive coeducational public university in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.Founded in 1911 as a normal school, the university is composed of eight undergraduate colleges as well as a college of graduate studies, together offering more than 80 majors/degree programs through over 35 departments. MTSU is most prominently known for its Recording Industry, Aerospace, Music, and Concrete Industry Management programs. The university has partnered in research endeavors with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the United States Army, and the United States Marine Corps. In 2009, Middle Tennessee State University was ranked among the nation's top 100 public universities by Forbes magazine.MTSU student athletes compete intercollegiately as the Blue Raiders, as a part of Division I Football Bowl Subdivision athletics in the Conference USA. On November 29, 2012, MTSU Athletics announced they had accepted an invitation to the conference.
The Honors College fosters the academic excellence and nurturing environment of a small, select, private, liberal arts college with the broader resources of a major university. The free exchange of ideas and the opportunity to learn from one another in small classes taught by expert faculty make the Honors College experience rich and meaningful.
Located off of Blue Raider Drive, the building is named for former President Quinn Cope, who was chief executive of MTSU when the building opened in 1962.

Fleet October 4, 2012 In 2009 my wife, five children and I relocated to the Nashville area from North Mississippi in search of employment. Previously I had lost my job as a Senior Civil Designer with an engineering firm in Memphis when the housing problems got bad. I was unable to find another job in the Southwest Tennessee. After we moved I could not find employment in the Nashville area either so I decided to go back to college and get a Bachelor degree. At that time I had Associate degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering. In the fall of 2009 I visited Middle Tennessee State University and was impressed. I enrolled for the spring semester 2010 with a goal of achieving a degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a new hearing impaired student a visit was made to the Disabled Student Services to inquire of the services available. With the approval of the department I requested a video phone from Sorensen Communications which allows the hearing impaired student to communicate with others with a similar device using sign language or through a sign language interpreter. Our communications on campus have been greatly enhanced through this device. The new phone was installed in the library so others would have a ready access to it. In the fall term of 2010 I found out there were five other hearing impaired students enrolled at MTSU. Since the hearing impaired student often feels “left out” of activities, fellowships, etc. because of lack of communications, I set out to meet the other hearing impaired students. I wanted to establish an atmosphere where the hearing impaired, interpreters and others interested in sign language would feel comfortable in an informal setting. This would also be an environment where the hearing students who are interested in sign language would have the opportunity to communicate with the hearing impaired in a more relaxed situation. To accomplish this goal I established the MTSU Deaf Raiders and serve as moderator for the group. We hold monthly meetings. We are also on Facebook with thirty-five members and have a Yahoo group, “MTSU Deaf Raiders”. November 2012 will be the second anniversary of the group. I will graduate in December 2012 with a degree in Liberal Studies with Engineering Technology. I hopefully will receive a second degree in the fall of 2013 in Mechanical Engineering. During my tenure I have received Enrichment Scholarship twice, Association of Energy Engineering Scholarship, Edwin S. Voorhies Scholarship and MT Diversity Scholarship. I am currently a member of the MTSU Pinnacle Honor Society. I and my family are active in church. My wife is hearing and a certified interpreter in American Sign Language. She serves in several organizations and is an interpreter here on campus. I serve as Assistant Scout Master in Boy Scouts of America Troop 13 in Franklin.
MTOP is the outdoor adventure program at Middle Tennessee State University and is open to all students, staff and community members. We kayak, climb, cave, raft, canoe, bike, ski, snowboard, shred the knar, hike, camp and explore. We also rent out gear for any of the above activities. Members of MTSU AES participate in local workshops, engineer hangs, studio tours, and product demonstrations as well as regional and national conferences and conventions. Recording industry majors and MRAT students with an interest in audio engineering are encouraged to join and participate in the program as a chance to network with industry professionals and other audio students. To become a member, join the AES through the main website (www.aes.org), and come to one of our meetings.
MTSU Campus Recreation offers fitness, recreational and sporting opportunities for members of the MTSU community.
Full-Service, On Campus Convenience! MTSU Campus Pharmacy, open to faculty, staff, and students, fills prescriptions from MTSU Health Services or from off-campus physicians. Prescriptions from off-campus physicians may be called or faxed in. Most major health insurance plans are accepted. The pharmacy also offers over-the-counter products including first aid supplies, cold and cough medicine, pain relievers, feminine care products, as well as snack and drink items. The Campus Pharmacy is open during regular Health Services hours, 8:00am-4:30pm Mon-Thur and 8:00am-4:00pm on Fridays. The drive-thru is open until 5:00pm Mon-Thur, and unitl 4:30pm on Fridays. Prescription Services You may order prescription refills online at www.mtsu.edu/pharmacy, by phone at (615)494-8888, or by fax at (615)494-8700. You may pick up precriptions on your lunch hour or as you leave campus. Physicians may call in or fax new prescriptions.

Once the sun goes down and it is dark enough outside, we will then start the outdoor movie. We will be playing Finding Nemo.
